bc.gold 3,403 #1 Posted April 8, 2019 Rebuilt the Sundstrand hydro last fall then it got to cold to work out in the shop, anyhow I've been trying to start the engine so that I can test the hydro and auxiliary hydraulics and that old Onan just would not start. Checked out all the usual things to go wrong, plenty of gasoline clean spark plugs with a healthy spark, so I was a bit puzzled over the no start issue. I know now why they towed the Allis trying to get her started and ruined the Hydro in doing so, previous owner would feel real sheepish right about now if he knew what the real problem was that was keeping the engine from starting. He found out the hard way that your not supposed to tow a hydro. It was a simple matter of installing the correct spark plugs, The Hydro works perfect did not even have to bleed any air and the aux hydraulics have plenty of lifting power, it's unfortunate that the Allis 720 will be sold along with a bunch of other stuff I've accumulated since my return on my last BC vacation - long story and everyone has one to tell so we'll leave it at that. My BC trip is temporarily postponed, probably leave here end of May.
bc.gold 3,403 #2 Posted April 8, 2019 (edited) What would be a realistic price to ask, I see some guy trying to sell the same rig for $7500.00 Canadian but I think he is way out of line on those numbers. The only disclosure is that the Arch loader bucket needs a new bottom plate as you can clearly see its full of pin holes. If I have time I may do the repair so let us consider its full of pin holes on the asking price. The Onan was rebuilt two or three years ago and now the Hydro has been completely rebuilt. I have a mower deck and the three point tiller that can go with the sale. No need to price those items out as they'll probably be gifted to the new owner.
