Looks like it would be a great time watching those old cars taking a shot at climbing that hill!

Are these cars rare classics? It does seem like it might be a bit hard on a classic car.

They're 1920's and 30's, Mike. Some are quite rare.

Rare vintage cars in this country barely leave the safety of the garage let along taking them out to the forest for a fun little hill climb.

It certainly looks steep in the pics too.

How does this event work? Do they get a running start or just stop at the bottom and take off up the hill?

Love the look on the lady in the 2nd pic!  LET ME OUT!!! :omg:

P.S. If they rake the forest it will cut down on wildfires! :hide:

What the lady is doing, Mike, is bouncing up and down in the seat to  hopefully aid traction.

They start at the bottom of a section/track, John. Standing start. The section is marked with numbered posts 1 to 25. The gradient usually increasing as you go up. The object is to get from 1 to 25 without stopping.

Is this for bragging rights only or a prize for the winner?

Those are great pictures. Thanks @Stormin!! A vintage car in the garage is merely a dust collector, I like to see them being used. The road to the top of that hill is probably not much different than the roads that were in existence when those cars were built.

I assume there is a trophy etc. John. I just go along to help marshal and not a member of the club. Most of the events are held down South. Just the Lakeland and Scottish up North.
