c160 Rear Lift Cable

Hey All!  I recently picked up a c160 w/ hydraulic lift, and a snowblower and tiller.  However I think I am missing the cable/chain that would attach to the tiller to lift it up and down.  Is anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Rear axle bracket & cable.

 

I would say rock shaft and chain to but I don't think your tractor has the mounting hole for it. By the looks of that bent pan a cable was riding there at some point and the weight of the tiller made the cable bend it.

I have the rear Axel bracket, just getting that cleaned up. Mostly I can't figure it where the cable routing would go.

Look at that dip in the rear of your tractor. you can almost see the cable mark. Follow that line. There is a small gap in the sheet metal underneath by the lift arm the cable will pass thru. Your seat fender mounting is different but the cable will be in the same area.

The 1976 and 1977 have the same number for the seat bracket for both the 8 speed and the hydro. It should have a 7/8" hole each side near the top of the back side of the seat bracket for the rocker shaft. I don't see the tube or the tube clamp for the cable.

My C is a 76 with a 75 set up from the factory. I think it was a mid year change.

Ok I think I figured it out. I found the slot that goes through from the back to the front. It was obscured by a mouse nest that I had to clear out. It doesn't quite line up with the arm, but I think I can manage. Also I definitely have the holes for a rocker arm in the back.

My 1977 C160 hydo rear lift cable and rock shaft, basically the same tractor you've got. The first and second pics are the cable and tube, the third is where it connects to the front. The fourth is what it looks like with the seat support, and the last is with the rear rock shaft. I've used manual WHs with tillers with the rock shaft and with out, if you plan on tilling much, you want the rock shaft. Lowell sells everything  you need, may coast you a little but you need to take advantage of that hydro, you won't regret it. You can go to the wanted section and ask for just the cable and tube, that will help you from bending you seat support at least.

For the front connection, is your arm lined up with the slot to go to the back?  See the last pic I posted.  The opening is offset from the arm, and it seems like the cable would rub on the side of the opening without something to move it over.

I'll have to look tomorrow, I think the arm in you pic is for the deck lift. in my pic that arm is above the lift arm, it has the rod connected to it.
