Hi All,

I My 656 cut 90% straight on flat ground but in a slight incline with variations in the terrain, its leaving patches of partially cut grass and looks like crap.  Please post your suggestions if u had this issue.  So far I have read to check with the am130907 tool for even-ness of blade heights.  The seller told me the blades are sharp and should be positioned right. [edit] WRONG, :confusion-seeingstars: one of them is.. chunked a little..    [edit] Well, upon closer inspection, the deck is tilted down by a good 2" on the left side in the back.  For now I used strong zip ties to sure it up level as I dont see any side to side adjustment and the manuals on this site do not show deck adjustment for a 1965 656.  To me.. it looks like part of the latch mechanism in the front might be worn, causing a tilt.. lets see how it mows like that.

Secondly, does anyone know if theres a way to adjust the seat farther or closer to foot rests? [edit] answer=yes, I was able to unbolt the seat, and move it up one hole (after drilling it out a little)

Well, after looking this thing over.. its also got two dry rot front tires..and one losing air :bitch:not a huge deal.. will have to figure out where to get those BUT a considerable oil leak around the crank and crank case cover.. if thats what its called.  It didnt leak when I drove it around b4 I bought it.. :ranting: I'll have to figure out how hard that is to fix!:scared-eek:  Runs great tho..other than that...

[edit] added answers for the next guy, any input welcome though

Fifty three year old tires that have dry rotted!        An oil seal that isn't sealing!      Unbelievable!      I enjoyed your introduction, thanks for joining our site.       :text-thankyoublue:

Indeed, smashing intro haha. That's an old gear driven deck. Very simple to work with. Just inspect it link by link and see where the play is. Some bronze bushings will have you up and tight again for another 50 years. Hopefully nothing was damaged by the apparent smack to one blade. Best to pop that deck off and check the support casting underneath for cracks, too. Your leaking seal may just be a snuffed up engine breather. But you're best off to make a separate post over in the engine section for that one.

By the way, yours is a 1966 model. The last digit is your model year.
