BPEisenhower 535 #1 Posted April 2, 2019 I see a lot of decent things in the garbage all the time. Got. Raider 14 in the garbage a year ago. Yes it's true. Someone stashed it under a couch and seen it when I got to transfer station after dumping. Today, this rolled out of the back, under a pile of banana boxes and old blankets. Put in a battery and it runs. I called the customer I picked up the container from and they told me it is too old and worthless. I like CUB and gave it a home but away from the Horses! I got my wife to be hooked on CUB and LawnBoy so it can stay with hers. Lol 😁 4 7 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

You’ll find that a few of the other guys on here have one or two in their vast collections and the “red” ones are especially liked. Great find! I have wanted a 582 for a long time myself! Can't believe people would toss out good equipment for garbage. I think the M18 don't like me very much, ran the battery dead and finally started. The IH dealer I worked for straight out of highschool , his daughter had one (which happened to be the mother of one of my best friends at the time) I got to run for an hour or so one Saturday morning mowing the lawn before I ever went to for him, yep that lil diesel was awesome, but I still have a hankering for an Onan up on the governor plus the 982 has a stretched wheel base wider bigger tires turning brakes Cat0 3pt ect. 2 4 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

My niece's husband started collecting the 82 series, he is a 782D, 582S and a 382 gear jammer away from having one of each. His 982 is the pride of his fleet. Stepped out and popped the doors open to stare at a 560 sleeper my brother and I started building years ago. Never fully finished but was running. Also has a mower deck.... it works good, but I don’t use this one for mowing. I have an original that was bought new by my great grandfather, then passed to my grandfather, then passed to my uncle and now me. It's one of those machines that will never leave my possession. I also have a 102 that belonged to my wife's grandfather, and a 104 with hydraulic lift that i just bought off a co worker. Razorback 1,035 #17 Posted April 3, 2019 I LOVE my 123!!! Another “built like a tank” example of yesteryear. But I’m out of room in the shed. Thinking of selling the 123/tiller/deck and a 1994 Craftsman GT6000 hydro that has a mower deck and a front snow blade. That will leave me with my Wheel Horse and all it’s goodies, the Speedex 1631, and a 2009 Craftsman PGT9000 that I use for mowing (can double in the garden for ploughing, cultivating, etc.)...... might just sell the GT6000 and keep the 123...... I’m the second owner and my dad’s oldest brother Bob went to high school with the original owner. It was used regularly but taken care of extremely well. It was the first year of the 17hp Kubota D640B in a Cub but the last year of the all metal Super Cub. Yes, it works as hard as it looks like it would... Just turned 1500 hours... As was mentioned, my fuel consumption was about 40% less than a comparable gas motor and about 55% less than an Onan (those love fuel but produce diesel like torque). It’s had a list of odds and ends that I’ve upgraded or replaced Over the last decade but it keeps on going strong. Hoping to get many more years out of it. Plan was to flip it for some extra money but after running it around a while it found a permanent home here. The hour meter is broken, but based on the oil change records from the po scrawled in the owners manual and extrapolating a bit, it probably has 3000 hours on it! i also have a spare kubota turbo Diesel engine - new in crate - for it if I should ever need it.
