JoeM 7,873 #1 Posted April 2, 2019 Had a guy show me this machine and it is pretty nice. He ask about collectability, price etc. I told him I am not sure but I do know you have to find the right person. Looks like paint was refreshed and the tires are OE. I liked where the pull start cord comes up through the hood. Any knowledge out there? 5

Achto 27,565 #4 Posted April 2, 2019 I don't know a lot about them. There is one on my "Some Day" list though.
Stepney 2,325 #5 Posted April 2, 2019 Springfield is an odd little tractor. I as well had a model 36. They have a bit of a cult following. To my understanding there are no serial records, I dated mine to '65 by the engine tag. Been a few years since I had one. Built by Quick Manufacturing, of Springfield, Ohio. They sold out to Toro in 1966 after a 2 year or so struggle and a lawsuit against Simplicity over a Tiller I think. Somewhere in an old magazine I read all that, been a while now. Toro continued to use their designs for a few years. Can't help much outside of that. So far as value, I've seen a nice restored one go for 350, and an old junker for 500 .. depends on the buyer I guess. 2
Mike'sHorseBarn 2,998 #6 Posted April 2, 2019 Yea that machine is on my list of tractors to own someday. As far as value, who knows, but I do believe that has the original engine in it so that's a plus.

Chris G 3,296 #8 Posted April 3, 2019 (edited) I always liked those. The body on them kinda reminds me of the old porter cable tractors. Edited April 3, 2019 by Chris G
