Ha, the famous line "Ran good when parked"

I bought an engine at the big show once just for the funny sign. It read "Ran at one time"

Tools are in the back, the bed’s loaded with straps, chains, come alongs, binders, just in casers, fluids, jack, air compressor, blocks, and plenty of room for a Wheel Horse if it’s still there!  We’ll head over to grab the shop trailer in the morning and hope for the best while we load!

Congrats to Rylee, she did a well purchase!

A great catch you both did, congrats!

Hey isn't that a tool a GT Mafia guy would use?!?! Could always use a gal who knows her way around an impact driver...may have to have her prospect for us!

Congratulations on your purchase!! Really happy that Rylee was able to score a Horse on the pick.

A word of advise with that 1010. Given the engine design with the plate connecting all of the cylinder sleeves, it does not fair well with short runs. So if you need to stop for a few minutes just leave it run instead of shutting it down.

Best of all fellas, she scored it for $65!  I haven’t ever gotten a deal like that, but I’ve sold parts out of a bundle that paid for the tractor...

I broke the lug bolts loose, but made her run the ratchet to pull the tire.  The wheel is rotten from chloride I believe.  When I handed her the impact to put it back together, I got a “Come on!” from her when she learned I planned that all along.

That's quite a large bucket on that backhoe]

Interesting set of weight under the front of the tractor to compensate for the hoe.  You may find you still want to get a loader bucket full of material for weight if your reaching and digging a ways out with the hoe.  Ok will let you get it running first.

so since it's a 1010 is  it a standard 4 speed with a hi/lo or is it a shuttle transmission. F9C9EABA-B87C-4630-927F-1FE2026D7505.jpeg

It’s a gear jammer, but everything on it is stuck right now.

It towed off the trailer fairly easy.  Once it was on the ground, I had Rylee help steer it out of the way.  Unloading didn’t move the truck and trailer that far!  I even had the trailer chocked...

JD almost always used their own engines in farm & industrial tractors.

I don't know a lot about the 1000 series, I do know that the 2010 was one of the worst tractors that JD ever made. They were under engineered and plagued with problems, transmissions being one of the main problems.

I fully agree.. On the 1010 and2010 series there were tranny problems. The tranny's were well known for knocking gears out. Don't be surprised if the hydraulic pump has issues as well. The ag tractors were made for small "gentlemen" farmers ie; people w/5 acres and 2 horses. I think just so they could say they have a tractor. They were actually a pretty good PTO tractor (for an elevator or auger) . When the 2510 came out? There were a lot of the problems addressed and somewhat fixed. If you can get it cheap enough and need one ? Or, want one? Then fixing it might not be too bad. Fortunately, Much like our WH's? JD, still has parts available. But, as the saying goes. JD? Green like money. I really hope you can just put fresh gas in her? Fire her up ? And put her to work. You don't need all them extra gears to dig a hole . Don't think it is going to be a money maker (resale). Unless you have a serious collector, that really wants one of those? With the inherent issues they have makes them low priced. Good Luck.......
