MalMac 1,332 #1 Posted March 25, 2019 Ok I have been chasing what I thought might be a carb problem on a K321. It runs fine at low rpm. At mid to high rpm it ran rough. While fiddling with carb adj. I happen to notice on the positive side of the coil, the wire was getting intermittent small arc’s about 1 inch from the post running down the insulation. I pulled the wire off the post and inspected the insulation. Everything seems to be fine. What could cause this and I’d this my rough running problem? Achto 28,777 #2 Posted March 25, 2019 The running issue you first described can be caused by a bad condenser. The arc issue sounds like there may be a hair line crack in the insolation on the coil. Either one could cause it to run rough at higher RPMs.
wallfish 17,494 #3 Posted March 25, 2019 I'm with Dan. Bad condenser, but it must be connected on the - side of the coil and the body of it must be grounded good
