formariz 11,987 #1 Posted March 24, 2019 Has anyone been having trouble looking at completed listings on eBay? When I click on completed listings it shows up for a couple of seconds and then turns into a blank page with just the headings.

formariz 11,987 #4 Posted March 24, 2019 (edited) When doing a search for any item i intend to buy, I like to look at the completed listings to see what they sold for. When I click on completed listings for that it shows up for a few seconds and disappears into a blank page except for the headings. Refreshing it causes the same thing again. this is what comes up each time. Edited March 24, 2019 by formariz

formariz 11,987 #7 Posted March 24, 2019 (edited) computer desktop. Problem started today never had it before. Weird, just tried iPad and it works fine Something with Firefox, all others work fine. Just realized that it updated itself right before this started happening.I wonder what it changed to do this. Edited March 24, 2019 by formariz
formariz 11,987 #8 Posted March 24, 2019 These updates drive me nuts. Stuff only happens when updates are installed.
953 nut 55,074 #9 Posted March 24, 2019 I got rid of FireFox and went to Google and most of the problems (other than my lack of knowledge) with the computer went away.
formariz 11,987 #10 Posted March 24, 2019 (edited) Never really had any problems with this browser. This is clearly something that the update changed. Funny thing also is that while trying to fix this switched to Edge which did not allow me to log on to Red square stating that there were errors. Did same thing again today for ebay and everything else I tried to get into. Finally one of the sites tells me that to get in I need to unblock cookies. Sure enough that was it. Everything works on Edge now. Its got to be something silly that it changed on the update. Edited March 24, 2019 by formariz

Sarge 3,463 #13 Posted March 25, 2019 I have had some cookie issues with Firefox as well lately - it was all due to the last update and if you search there are some fixes for it. Very similar problems to what you're having, plus some other plugins weren't working as they used to as well. To top it off, the last Android update changed a ton of things on my Samsung phone that I didn't appreciate - I hate it when they randomly make changes like that and force them on us with no choice. I'm sure here pretty soon there will be another auto update done to Firefox to correct the complaints - at least they are pretty good at taking care of that and I far prefer/trust this browser over using Chrome or anything else. For those that primarily use Google - it is a really good idea to log directly into your account and go through every single user setting available, which can take a lot of time. Make sure you shut off/change all the privacy and search settings - otherwise they are trying to govern what you will see and do on the internet. Even Firefox has some shortcomings with all this stuff - I don't appreciate the intrusive direction all the internet browsers and search engines have turned towards in the last few years. formariz 11,987 #14 Posted March 25, 2019 Another new issue found this morning most likely related to what @Sarge has mentioned. I can go into Craigslist. However when I type what I am looking for, immediately redirects me to my home page over end over again. I can sort of fool it sometimes by instead clicking on something like donations when on Craigslist ,looking at a few things there and then finally typing what I al really looking for. It really sucks and is not right that they make these decisions without warning consumers. I lived in a dictatorship where what you could do and look at was dictated to you and this pretty much is in that general direction. Now its really pissing me off. Sarge 3,463 #16 Posted March 26, 2019 I'd start to wonder if some of these issues are problems that go back to your ISP - what happens if you do a forced refresh? Sarge
formariz 11,987 #17 Posted March 26, 2019 Tried the forced refresh and same result. Problem is only with this browser since update. Noticed also that it does same thing with other sites. Impossible to get on Amazon now. Its blocking acess to many sites or parts of sites. I am going to remove it totally and reinstall it. If that does not work then that is the last of it. So much time wasted with this.
Sarge 3,463 #18 Posted March 26, 2019 Actually, now that you mention that - I may have had to uninstall the browser and install the newest version directly from Mozilla. I've several other programs that have been that way - but some of that issue could be from running Win7 Pro64 versus something newer. What you are describing can't be from an update in recent times that I know of, but there are several versions of Firefox for different OS builds so who knows? If you search, make sure to include your OS in the search, otherwise, you'll wade through worthless information for hours. Aside from a few hiccups with plugins being dropped due to security, I have rarely ever had any problems with Mozilla - Chrome was a whole different story and about the most intrusive software I've ever seen. formariz 11,987 #24 Posted March 29, 2019 OK so I figured out the problem and solved it. My Firefox browser has two Ad blocking programs. uBlock origin and Adblock plus. It seems that update basically changed all settings in them to maximum security not allowing me to see anything that remotely was advertising. I started noticing that next to many websites in a search, a little square block with ad in side of it was present. Something I had never seen before. So all it took was to configure both add blocking programs and everything is back to normal. Until the next update that is.
Sarge 3,463 #25 Posted March 30, 2019 Duh, never thought of that - I use Ghostery and the last update did nearly the same thing, but that ad blocker isn't as aggressive as those two. Might want to give Ghostery a shot - it runs quietly and the settings are simple enough, no regrets. At least that one does notify a little window when something is updated, unlike some of the other blockers. Sarge
