How do you adjust a Chinese carb?

Recommended Posts

BHunter

I put a new carb on my 4hp . It runs but I don’t know how to adjust it or what screw does what. The picture in the k91 manual shows a different carb. Can someone tell me what the top , middle and lower screws do?

Thanks, Bob905362FB-22EC-4806-93C6-222CDE59A382.jpeg.8613861e6c1a4731c879adb94309915c.jpeg

The Kohler manual has an excellent description on how to adjust each

Thank you. Your arrows help a lot. Now I can follow the manual.

Thanks. It’s temporary . I’m rebuilding  the original. I was surprised how it fired up on the second pull though.

John, thanks for your tuning help at the big show. It runs better. Hope you made it to the wedding in time.

That was you?

Nice to have met you.

Sorry I didn't have time to play around with it longer and get it dialed in. Had to scramble outta there and yes, I made to the wedding on time.

I have purchased at least 4 Chinese carbs within the last 3 years. I have found that right out of the box they are properly set with only minimal tweeks needed to fine tune the main jet.
