Chris G 3,311 #1 Posted March 16, 2019 So I am looking for opinions on this particular machine. Any pros or cons and anything specific to watch out for. The photos are of the one i will be looking at. The owner says deck is solid, just primed were paint peeled and started to rust. Has a extra set of new spindles, pulleys, and belts. Also comes with a snowblade, tire chains and weights. It runs and drives and no smoke or leaks he says.

Skipper 1,789 #4 Posted March 16, 2019 Doubt you be disappointed, if price is right. I would prefer a hydro, but that's just me. Besides that, the 1x5 blackhoods are the best they ever made, if you ask me. Simple, rugged, dependable.
AMC RULES 37,144 #5 Posted March 16, 2019 I'm not askeered of no series one... a beast of a machine they are.

JCM 9,916 #10 Posted March 16, 2019 @Chris G I say go buy that C-175 before someone else. get"s wind of it . @AMC RULES I turned on the tv to watch the news with a cup of coffee and stumbled on your videos, not that there is anything good on there other than the weather to plan the day, that C175 twin auto is like a mini D-8 Caterpillar in action. My first WH brochure I picked up is a 1981 Premier edition with Jackie Stewart as the pitchman, always wanted that model but the dealer that all of my tractors originated from be it new or used other than the 520-H are all 8- speeds,He was never a fan of the Hydros, in fact he always drove manual trans pickups because he did not trust the autos, long story short there were never any Hydros in the area to collect. Thanks for the Saturday morning entertainment .

pfrederi 18,178 #14 Posted March 16, 2019 Check the Spec number on the engine. If it is 24300 or higher it is the better Series II. A lower spec number is a Series I. The less than stellar track record of that engine would be grounds for negotiating a lower price. If it it were me I would buy it with either engine as long as it ran OK but hey if I could get him to knock a couple bucks on a a Series I why not.... 2
squonk 41,928 #15 Posted March 16, 2019 C175 is impressive in Craig's video's. What's even more impressive is the fact no sandals were worn in making of said videos! 2
ebinmaine 69,707 #16 Posted March 17, 2019 I know you have the skills to repair the deck anyhow but if you can, bring a scraper of some sort. Screwdriver, whatever... That deck doesn't look amazing. I'm not a fan of leaving exposed primer.

Outstanding! That pic with the Kohler twin set on top of the hood certainly proves the black hoods can support some weight! I would expect that to crush most other hoods! On our craigslist, we can set an alert when new searches come up under a certain name, So every Wheel Horse that comes up, I get a notification and if the price is right, I jump on it. I don't have a girlfriend, I don't smoke nor am I a party animal so all the money I keep on the side goes into the tractors! And how can you say no to a black hood in need of some love? @SylvanLakeWH 2 1 1
