troutbum70 857 #1 Posted March 12, 2019 Got to replace oil seal behind brake drum. Is it possible to remove drum without removing rear wheel or does it require a puller for removal? Just curious before I start, I have a bum arm from a fall on the ice and not sure if I can get the 70 lb. wheel weight off to remove wheel. Have had this horse since new but not ever had to replace this seal until now. Thank you to whom ever may know.
stevasaurus 22,868 #2 Posted March 12, 2019 You may get the brake band and drum off without pulling the tire, but pulling the tire will give you the much needed room to tap the new seal back in. Maybe you can just loosen the set screw and lock nut and take off the wheel with the weight and the hub. Just jack up the horse enough to take the weight off of the tire. Call somebody that works for beer.
troutbum70 857 #3 Posted March 13, 2019 That's a great idea Steve I never gave pulling the wheel assembly with hub off axle a thought, thank you for turning the light bulb on for me.
