WHX??

Anybody have any clue as to what one might be worth? What's the most you would give for it?

I remember reading an article in a magazine (LGTC ?) or on-line about that tractor, but I can't recall the purpose of that rig on the back.   If I remember correctly, the driver sits on the hood, and rides it backwards to use it.

What does it do ???

Moving aircraft fellas... I've only seen them at the BS. My thoughts are to reversible modify it for moving trailers.

If I owned a Boeing 737, I might buy it.  But how does one steer it ?   Can it be converted back to a 4-wheeled tractor?

The steering was by a hydraulic piston swiveling the front (rear) end. It could handle up to a small twin.

They are definitely unique and cool. I know last summer one was for sale in PA. I'll see if I can't find the listing and what they were asking.

I remember the  Air Horse. I'm wondering if it could be modified for logging. Dragging small felled trees out of woods/forests.

:text-yeahthat:...... At our dealership I had take care of the equipment lot . I could move all the equipment with the skid steer 10 times faster than a tractor. There is all sorts of possibilities with that setup and some imagination ! :eusa-think:

So I couldn't find the listing, so I asked a couple local guys. The one gentlemen said that at a auction last year one sold for $1800.00 down in the southerntier of NY. Said it was completely functional, just faded paint.

Thanks Chris that's what I was lookin for... both these are in a western state,  where thankfully,  I have WH bros who would be willing to facilitate pickup and storage for future retrieval. You don't  hang out here without makeing bros across our Great Nation that ain't willing to give to the shirt off their back or helping you score. Says alot about the caliber of the fellas here.

Dilemma is how bad do I want it?

Thing is auctions and I don't party well, always gotta be that one guy like @squonk who wants to rain on my parade at auctions ..... just :ychain: Mike!  We'll see and keep you posted.

Sorry no links to auction sites per club rules hence the whiteout on the pics.

OK time for fun for you hydraulic math heads.... what would be the maximum lift in lbs given the hydro puts out around 700 psi and say a 4 in. Cylinder?

Thanks Ray...Probably closer to you than me. Running or not is generally  not an issue for a guy who knows his way around these beasts and ain't afraid to twirl a wrench.

used to tow airplanes by the nose gear.   Hydraulics clamp to nose tire and lift it off the ground. Can be driven from either seat.   Depending on whats being done while towing or just driving to a hanger.

If you're twirling wrenches I suggest a hard hat and gloves with your track record with injuries. :helmet:

I've been known to run someone up at an auction but only when they hosed me a few times first. Happened this past weekend at a farm toy auction.     YYYUUUUPP!!!!!!   :handgestures-thumbupright:

Not a bad idea Lane...make it a Leer Jet... Hmm wonder if the one Cecil Pond had is still around? :eusa-think: Get Terry to make some new decals for it. The road I live on is fairly straight so would make a good runway. Use the cab lights on the 520 for landing lights. Weather gets cold fly down & hang with Ritchie. Take the Mafia with me case there's wrangling to be done. Stop by and pick up Kevin for loading the plane... oversize fridge for extra cobbler.  Then again maybe not.... bidding is getting close to my max...knock it off Squonk!

Another :techie-idea: make a wheel cradle for it to pick up and move dead :deadhorse: around?? No more futzing with tow valves. How's that for practical? :)
