Evil Archer 300 76 #1 Posted March 9, 2019 Any tips on removing the drain plug. I just purchased a 416-8 and think it would be a good idea to drain the Transaxle.
ebinmaine 68,391 #2 Posted March 10, 2019 Are you talking about the drain plug that is at the very bottom of the transmission? Not the one that is on the side? If so, I've never seen one stuck because they sit in gear oil. Appropriate sized allen wrench and try to tighten it just a hair first, then loosen it.
The Tuul Crib 7,337 #3 Posted March 10, 2019 Here’s a tool I have found to be very handy for this to particular thing . It is a plumbing tool I picked up at Home Depot a few years back. Fits perfectly on the drain plug

peter lena 8,726 #7 Posted March 10, 2019 while you are at it , its probably a good time to replace the shiftier boot, they usually crack and let in moisture, about 9 $ on the net. use silicone grease on shiftier rod for smooth easy install , Pete
