Taking apart the transmission today in the rj58 and see what I need to rebuild it

Working on the air j58 today just got it apart shall see what we run into

looks like someone had it apart before! mine wasnt painted on the inside i dont believe. i took photos of mine i will have to check. Mine had just about every bearing locked up. well worth it to just start replacing all the bearings and seals. you will be very happy you did. mine also didnt even have the stinkin gaskets on the housings. someone used form a gasket. do it right it is well worth it.

id pull the bearings and seals and blast all that off. or use oven cleaner get all that paint off.

I do not have one that old but the insides of hydro gear and piston to piston transaxles were painted by the factory....

Only the hydros were painted inside.  Someone has been in there.  Actually, what we can see looks good.  You did take it apart upside down though...you will have to re-build it with that side down.  :occasion-xmas:

Yes parts are on the way in the mail.it a wait game gives me time  to clean and prep

Had the gf put it together  for me will  see how good she did when get home I g

That is awesome!

My wife can't change a light bulb. That would be sweet to take stuff apart, fix it and then have her put it back together'. Anything wrong would always be her fault too! Win Win in my book. LoL

Ya thanks she always  has been the type to buy stuff and ask me to bring more wheel horse home  lol she is my wheel horse mamma
