@dells68, have you looked at Leonard brand trailers, we have a local dealer.

@WVHillbilly520H the trailer I have is a Leonard.  It’s very well built, but their pricing is far out of line of O’Quinn.  The only real difference I can find between theirs and Leonard is the heavier gate on the Leonard.  For $1800 difference, I can beef up the gate if I go with the utility style.  I might trade mine in if my buddy decides against it.  Just have to see what they could give me on it.

I’ve sold my 12’ trailer to a friend.  I’ve got to work cutting some trees and brush over at Dad’s while I can tomorrow since the weather is going to be nice, but I plan on going to the trailer dealer Thursday morning.  I’ve about decided to stick with the 16’ utility due to having sides and higher ground clearance in the rear.  On occasion I take it into the field and am afraid I might get hung up with a car hauler with the dovetail.  I won’t know for sure until I go over, but I’m excited to be stepping up to a little longer trailer to allow more room for horses!!

Finally found time to get over to O’Qinn trailer and look at their trailers.  When I got there, I knew I recognized the salesman, but couldn’t place him.  Finally realized it was Danny O’Quinn who used to drive for Jack Rousch a few years ago.  Nicest guy you’ll ever meet.  I ended up getting a tube top 76”x16’.  Really nice trailer, but it didn’t have the heavy duty gate.  I didn’t want to pay $600 more for the same trailer to get a heavy gate.  So, I just made my first mod - reinforced the gate by boxing two uprights and adding cross braces for ramps.  Most of my welds looked like bird turds since it has been so long since I did that much welding.  Finally started making decent looking welds when I was almost done.  Last pic is the before of the gate.  A few more mods yet to come.  I’ll post more on them in the days to come.  The trailer hit me at $1895 with another $149 for the toolbox.  Pretty fair price for what I got I think.  Time to wash the welding stink off!!

Added a couple more things to my trailer today - gravel guards on the fenders, chrome wheel trim, and stained/waterproofed the deck.  I also got my Gorilla Lifts installed the other night.  Few more small mods to come.

Trailer looks fantastic and love the mods. Was this a single axle brake vs both axles? If single, do you plan on moving to dual? It is amazing the difference in trailer prices in locations. I can't touch something like that for less than $2700. What other small mods are you planning and what did you sell the old one for if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks!  This one only has brakes on the back axle. My old one was the same and did fine considering the loads I haul.  Very seldom do I haul over 4,000lbs.  I have some tie downs and maybe one or two other small things I’d like to do.  My old trailer was 7 years old.  It was in good shape and the market value here is between $1200-$1400.  I sold it to a buddy for $1200.  I felt that was fair to both of us.  This one has to last me several years, as I don’t see a need for larger.
