Evil Archer 300 76 #1 Posted March 2, 2019 I just bought a 416-8. Added it to my herd. I have a problem with the Clutch pedal pulsing up and down. With the Clutch engaged in neutral and while in gear. Any thoughts ?
Ed Kennell 38,681 #2 Posted March 2, 2019 It could be a bad idler pully bearing, or a bad spot on the belt, or a weak spring.
Evil Archer 300 76 #3 Posted March 2, 2019 It is constant ,So I don't think it's the belt. I'll check the Idler and spring tomorrow Thanks

If the belt has a damaged spot or a chunk missing, it will cause the clutch pedal to pulse each time it comes around to the idler pulley, so might as well take a look if the idler pulley is good. Evil Archer 300 76 #5 Posted March 3, 2019 I took the Belt off today and found a spot where it was just a little narrower . It would be just enough to make a pulse. The idler looked perfect and the spring appears to be good. I need to know the lenght of the belt. I have a 310-8 that I removed the drive belt and it was too short. Ed Kennell 38,681 #6 Posted March 3, 2019 I would take the belt to TSC or NAPA and let them match the size. Make sure you get a belt that is designed to run an idler on the back side. TSC green is my belt of choice.
