1974-B-80 52 #1 Posted February 25, 2019 I was asked to work on a 520H for someone that has no reverse. What can cause this? The lever on the dash for FNR is very loose and so is the bracket on top of the pump. I’m not sure if he’s mechanical but he said he had a WH pro come and tell him that there is a leak. The owner said he drained the fluid and refilled it but I think he filled it so fast that it didn’t let air out and it poured all over the transmission and the garage floor. I took a look at it today and it will not even roll in neutral. It will move a about a foot and make a racheting noise from the back then lock up. I’m not familiar with these so is there a release lever somewhere. I can’t find one. The whole tractor looks like it was taken care of and has a perfect mowing deck and plow. What does this seem like is wrong?
lynnmor 7,354 #2 Posted February 25, 2019 Ratchet noise is normal, these tractors should not be pushed, there is no release. If the oil level on the dipstick is correct, then the problem is likely the sloppy controls.
