Are they broken? Pics? And yes I have fixed a pair but they will then be in a lower hole in the moldboard...i used a cutoff wheel on a 4.5" grinder they just "thread" on to the rod ends.

They aren't broken. I can get pics tomorrow.

They're just very weak.

When I got this plow there was a couple of parts that were very very rusty. Apparently the insides of these springs have eroded away quite a lot.

They trip the plow forward quite often when it just shouldn't be going.

https://www.partstree.com/parts/toro/accessories/79350-toro-48-snow-dozer-blade-for-300-series-garden-tractors-sn-5900001-5999999-1995/blade-assembly/... Eric, they aren't cheap,  those springs on mine (originally early 42") have set outside for many years and are still better than the set I got with the NOS xi series blade I got 4 years ago that I fixed by shortening...

What is the size of those springs. In side diameter ?  Wire diameter ? The length? They look a lot like old garage door springs. I have an old garage door spring it's about 1" in side and the wire is 3/16" diameter.

@WVHillbilly520H funny you say that. The ones on my 42 are also much stronger than these from the 48.

@Lee1977 good question... I'll check them sometime soon.
