gt14rider 797 #1 Posted February 20, 2019 Hi all, restoring my 1970 GT14, I'm working on the transmission 90-2062, read pfrederi (sunstrand o ring) write up. Thanks for the dash # conversion. Anyway, went on line and there are a lot of o ring materials, silicone, viton, epdm, buna n which is the best one to use? Any help would be greatly appreciated. oliver2-44 9,870 #2 Posted February 20, 2019 Viton is what we used for Oil & Grease, medium temperature applications at work, around the power plants.
peter lena 8,726 #3 Posted February 20, 2019 gt14rider,don't forget to lightly lubricate the Viton rings with related oil to prevent " rolling " the o ring , causing a leak. verify that the o ring stays to size before and after installation. Pete
pfrederi 17,885 #4 Posted February 20, 2019 Viton is probably best but more expensive. i do not have any issues with Buna-n
