Missing governor to throttle linkage

Recommended Posts

bunson70

I'm putting my engine back into my 1968 Commando 8. It's a 8HP Kohler engine. I lost the wire that goes between the throttle linkage and the governor lever. Can someone tell me how long it needs to be from hole to hole? A picture would be helpful too. The last picture has the linkage on the governor lever. Also, I'm fairly certain on the routing for the throttle cable. I am not sure how the choke cable is routed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You can move the governor arm all the way left and open the carb butterfly all the way. Then measure between the the two holes for the length of the wire rod and where to put the Z bends. EXACT Precise length is not super critical as you will set the governor afterwards.

Route choke cable under engine blower housing. Conduit clamps to the bracket.

I appreciate your help. I figured that there was a fairly simple way to get them lined up.
