Stealth126 54 #1 Posted February 7, 2019 Can anybody help me with advice on replacing my spindle bearings? When I get the snap ring off and remove the metal ring or seal I expected to be able to push the shaft through so I could pull the bearing out. What is holding that shaft in there? Is it flared at the end? Or is there something else holding it from pulling out? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Lee1977 6,643 #3 Posted February 7, 2019 There is a snap ring under the top bearing to keep the shaft down. Bump it out from the bottom you have to knock the top bearing out with the shaft. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Stealth126 54 #4 Posted February 7, 2019 So to make sure I'm understanding correctly, there's a snap ring above and below the top bearing? So I remove the ring on the top, then tap the shaft from the bottom to knock the top bearing out? Then will I have access to the bottom snap ring? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Stealth126 54 #10 Posted February 7, 2019 Okay. Got it. There was a tight form fitted washer under that top bearing. Tapped on the shaft and pushed it down and through. Bought new needle bearing and top bearing. They seem to be in decent shape but it was wiggling a bit and rotating harder than the other 2 spindles so might as well relpace them while I have it torn apart.
