Sparky-(Admin) 21,733 #1 Posted February 1, 2019 Got outa work real early...(came home and got my chores done fast, installed new LED kitchen under-counter lights).... So I fired up my 656, or is it a 556 and headed into the woods. A bit cold at 21 degrees but something about tractor riding just warms ya up! Only 1”-2” of snow, stream crossing was froze up good meaning I didn’t break thru. No critters on this ride, just @Docwheelhorse Tony’s “woods art”. 14 11 1

I picked up 4 Wireless led ones that are dimmable. they are controlled by remote. actually pretty nice lights 22 bucks online.
Sparky-(Admin) 21,733 #4 Posted February 1, 2019 Nothing that fancy here! These are simply hardwired and controlled by a wall switch. Yours sound like a great deal, these were around $85 for the pair 🙄 at Home Depot. Ones an 18” and the others a 24”.
ebinmaine 69,669 #5 Posted February 1, 2019 Nice Woods photos ! I wish we had as little snow as you do. We'll have to wait a couple months or more to get into the forest at this point.

Wishin4a416 2,191 #12 Posted February 3, 2019 (edited) A good time was had by both! The ole LT 10/36 looks lonely out there. I had one back in the late 70's. Edited February 3, 2019 by Wishin4a416
Docwheelhorse 2,684 #13 Posted February 3, 2019 Its not lonely... Mr. And Mrs. Mouse and family have made a nice home out of it. And... given the choice of being between 2 trees or tossed into crusher it said "I'll sit here" Tony
Cetan08 311 #14 Posted February 3, 2019 I noticed the against on all four corners. I have them on my C-121 and when I got them an old tractor tire man told me to put the front tires reverse of what you would normally and it would help with control in soft stuff. Mud, snow, etc. Have always had them this way so have no idea how they would do mounted as they usually are. Love the idea of just out riding but like already mentioned, to much snow here. Would need ski's and chains on my horse.

Only has a 5hp Honda yank-start so it’s not really touquey enough for chores. I did install a slightly oversized crank pulley so in 3rd gear full throttle it moves along pretty quick! It’s great for putting around the local tractor/machinery shows, nice and quiet, runs smooth and starts in a couple pulls.

JCM 9,914 #17 Posted February 3, 2019 (edited) I hope you do not mind some more winter trail ride pics Mike, anymore snow than this and it would not be happening, you definitley sparked my interest.I did have to pack the trail down with a heavier tractor first but the 417-8 did well with 3 solid blocks in the weight box and easy on the throttle to start out in second gear. This was today around noon. Thanks. Edited February 3, 2019 by JCM 6

JCM 9,914 #19 Posted December 22, 2019 @Sparky Didn't want to hijack your Topic that I enjoyed in February so I figured I would add to it. I also put a few pics of what it looked like a few weeks ago. We did have a good 8'' and then lost that and then the heavy rain for 1 night. The Brook shown is in the middle of the property and usually do not see it like this more than 2 or 3 times a year but always welcomed for the sound and beauty of it. The pics of the 417-8 were taken 2 hours before sunset on Friday and the Brook starting to freeze over were today at noon. The snow total is down to 3 '' now and I have it packed good. It's unfortunate that we all live so scattered because when I took the pics on Friday afternoon I was thinking how cool it would be to have a Winter M & G with all the Boys with their Red tractors running all the trails and stop for a picture shoot. But as we all know it's hard enough to plan for one in the milder weather without having to deal with a Washout or brutal humidity even here in Maine Enjoy the pics. 5 4 1

JCM 9,914 #22 Posted February 16, 2020 I was hoping to see a few Trail ride pics this year but I would assume in some parts of the Country there just isn't enough white stuff so I hope I won't bore you with my pics from today. After packing the snow down there is a real good base for a tractor ride, walking the woods or a ride on the ATV. 1 3

Pullstart 63,497 #24 Posted February 17, 2020 @JCM those hubcaps remind me.... ever notice how awesome the world looks from the reflection of a motorcycle headlight housing? One of my favorite parts about riding is noticing how awesome the sky is, no matter if there is sun or clouds. Awesome pics!
JCM 9,914 #25 Posted December 6, 2020 My favorite thread. Today's mess in the woods. Spent a little time out there picking up the mess, but with the wind still swirling around a bit you can't hear large branches falling on top of you. Good size pine came down that I had my eye on for removal, Mother nature took care of it for me. 3
