Tractorhead 9,064 #251 Posted November 15, 2019 Because of no Snow, i can improve the small Cabin a bit. Than i changed the Windshield glass to a Material named makrolon, what is nearly unbreakable, UV stable and scratch resistant. not it ain’t cheap, but it looks much better and the viw is brilliant. Also a Wiper is now on, but just „handmoved“ but i‘m ok with that. While my horse has a Hydraulic system, i thinkin for the movement of the Snowshovel, at least i thinkin of moving the Plowshield and had an simple solution for BFDF9AE7-535A-42E6-BA05-203A31867276.MOV While there is in Winteruse no longer a shovel on the small FEL, i can steal the tilt cylinder and reuse it for the Shovel tilt. yap, time for some Snow....
Tractorhead 9,064 #252 Posted November 22, 2019 Found a new thingi, i will pickup on Sat. This Weekend let‘s see what that guy has on addons....
Stormin 9,981 #253 Posted November 22, 2019 Looks like some kind of stitcher, but I've never seen one quite like that. Should be handy for furring over your potatoes.
Pullstart 62,883 #254 Posted November 22, 2019 Woo hoo! Looks like a potato tool to this guy too. Or a snow trail maker for the winter? A lane for the dog, and one for his human!
Tractorhead 9,064 #255 Posted November 22, 2019 This is an Doubleaction plow. basically built for a 11HP 2 Wheeler tractor in early 70‘ies It was not the weak trash you can buy now, it was an older version, what was a bit more stable. This Plow is usable for both directions to Plow. It also was not the complete plow, it is just the importantst thing of the whole mechanism. The mounting hitch i decide to build myself, because i wanna a System similar like this. so you can sit on tractor, pull once on the Lever and the plow turns over. Like in this Video.... Not too hard to built, but if you buy, it cost completely about 700-1000 Bucks. I payed just 45€ for the Plow, and the turn mechanic is a perfect Project until Springtime...😎 Also while i have an option to a smaller Field with 20m by 50m where i thinkering to purchase. We just dealing about the Price.. 😎 2

Tractorhead 9,064 #258 Posted November 22, 2019 Basically i was just lurking for a Brinly or a similar single Plow until i found that Doubleside Plow. i immediately like the idea, to be able to work in both directions without circling arround the field for less. even if i didn‘t use it to increase Seattime, it has advances just to have. and as i told, it‘s allway’s better to have than to need... 😂 i also like the idea of one handed turnover, that‘s a real cool gimmick to bring you far ahead. i also thinkering to implement my Tiller fix on the back on the WheelHorse with a handlever ( or maybe hydraulic) once as a usable counterweight and secondary while it works very nice with it together. so i‘m also in the search for 2 addon Tillercrawl. Than i be on a width of 80 cm what was an ideal width. the Engine is easy able to rotate it, because i increase the Enginepower more as double. but this fitting crawls are strong to find. Tractorhead 9,064 #260 Posted November 23, 2019 So, i pickup the things today. Nice person, we firstly talked about several things, about one hour or so.... than we take a closer look at the goods he offered. Firstly the Plow it wasn‘t that huge, but it looks good. Than he offered few „things“ he didn‘t know what they are for. - that was two skimmers for the Plow and two spread sheets additionally. than he shows me the Shed, to look at things i could need eventually. i see 2 Hackstars they maybe didn‘t fit to mine, but are good base to enhance. They are from a differently machine, but i can „ upgrade“ my Tiller in that Way. we talked and finished at 10 bucks each. I‘m ok with that. think i will weld them onto mine, to increase my little Tiller. Ain‘t looks Bad.
Tractorhead 9,064 #261 Posted December 9, 2019 Damn, the snowblower is away... he sold it today 🤔 Anyway, so i could harvesting the Old Car for Parts needed. To get new Road approval i had to fix some issues. Steering Wheel klacks sometimes, especial if car isnt move and you turn the Steeringwheel. I found out, that in the the Steeringshaft a ballbearing has quit it‘s job, but hey i got a spender... so i diggin at -2 deg in that old thing and harvesting the Parts. So that‘s the prey of today‘s raid. i will firstly cleanup and check the Parts before i implement them into the new... 1
Tractorhead 9,064 #262 Posted December 11, 2019 Could smash my head onto Wall, yesterday i tried to remove the Steeringwheel from Steeringshaft. anybody has glued it with Loctite in mass together. Whilst i try to remove, now little movement on Steeringwheel was possible in neither direction. i try it up and down and sideway‘s but nothing at all. using heatgun to loosint the Loctite but it looks pressed fix for ever. At least i get a hammer, clamped the Steeringwheel between my feet, put the fixing screw a little in and give it a lightly whack onto screwhead, to loosen. That was my stupiest idea ever, i heared a loud clack and the whole steeringshaft collapses, but the Steeringwheel still stay‘s on as nothing will be happen. After that issue, i used brutforce to crack it and just with brutforce i was able to remove.
Tractorhead 9,064 #263 Posted December 11, 2019 (edited) After dismounting with brutforce i lay the parts yesterday aside. Today after Work, i verify, how to disassemble the Steeringshaft, because it ain‘t be more broken as broken. it depends about 2 hours, to disassemble the parts carefully, in hope to rework, maybe just as spare. I peel the Springring of of the front (what is brutal strong seated) than i „shake“ the whole spindle until it dismounts itself, what is a good way to do. finally i had all the parts released and be able to restretch the Spindle, it goes a bit strong but it is able to. after enlarging, it seems it can be remounted with changed Bearings, they are died after brutforce disassebling of the Steeringwheel. Ballbearings are not that expensive i thought, but the Originals will be about 198€( similar to us$) by INA company they will be 89€ for, puuuh. than i found in fleebay another Shaft a Guy offered for 140€, i offered 40 bucks just in case and i got it. ok so my loss is just 40 bucks, i can deal with. few Picts about the Spindle, if you ever try to change a Spindle, thread it as a raw egg. Just an advice after that issue, if you must use some force to dismount the Steeringwheel from a spindle, keep it in the Car until Steeringwheel is released. Otherwise it will be diying. This is the collapsed Steering shaft Reenlarged just by pulling with hands It surely needs a bit of force to extend it back again, but it can be done, but after lightest whack, this spindle collapses very quickls and 2 new ballbearings are needed, you can feel the ripples inside whilst rotate. think i‘m searching for a bit better ballbearing that destroys itself not that fast but the spindle must slip easily thru. Pullstart 62,883 #264 Posted December 11, 2019 Stefan was the car’s inspection failed because of this issue or does it just bother you? Vehicles here... can be missing more than half of what rolled off the factory line and they still make it down the road.
Tractorhead 9,064 #265 Posted December 11, 2019 Here it is a bit different. A brand new Car has automatically an Roadapprooval for 4 years, independent if it‘s given or not, after that all 2 Years a Completely check must be solved successfully. A lot of Things will be checked, even if there is no error in the System, independent wich. If an error is displayed which error ever, no roadapprooval before fixing. If you change things like Tyres or Rims or Fenders, they must be immediately checked and approved by TÜV and added Feature in paperwork, otherwise the next policeofficer can disable you car and prevent to use, i.eg. By confiscating and bring to a safe Place you have to pay for... There are a lot of things they be Safety relevant they must work without any problems, that make sense i. Eg Brakes, Steering, Windshield, lights, Safetybelts and so on. few issues can be ignored but will be marked as maginal error to fix like a loosen inner mirror if car has 2 mirrors outside. but this things will be depressed more and more.. so the Steeringshaft is urgently to fix in perfect shape, even it cannot fail, it is a important requirement to drive continousely with the car. for roadapprooval it is devinitely a nogo. This and while the car had just until March Valid Approval, it is required to fix it with „Original parts“. It surely depends on the person who‘s checked your car, how strength the check is, but last time they mentioned the Brake discs must be changed before, even they just 10.000 km old (nearly new without any ridge) but it has 1 lightly scratches less than a 1/10 mm seemed impacted by a clamping stone. It depends on the Tester, he has the ability to say yes, another 2 years or no, this Car doesn‘t move further. That causes for me in this case 4 new Brakediscs and 4 set of bricks without really a need of it, because there was no rubbing in the brake or loosen of brakeforce.( it would als be checked ahead...🤪) Another issue was the Keylock for steeringwheel , because it hungs and didn‘t engage, even if key was out of lock. the Wheellock must engaged if key is pulled or a big issue is happen... 😎😱 result - no roadapprooval. i know it sounds crazy and yes, it is. On the other hand i also know, there are some „specifications or better rules“ given to the Tester guy’s to exit older Cars, or make the Check that strong, that owner shall be convinced in „it‘s cheaper to buy a new Car instead repair the old one“. Nobody will answer this official, but everybody knows it, it‘s a unwritten LAW.
Tractorhead 9,064 #266 Posted December 13, 2019 With a lot of passion and a piece of steelwoul i be able to fix up the Steering shaft. try it as i did on a ball bearing before. i used a Threaded rod and print a so called flywheel, where i can insert the Steelwoul, than i polished the lower Ballbearingring as long as it will rotate „ripplefree“. The upper ballbearing can be brought with Compressed Air to a state, that it can be called „released“ working. it runs not 1000% perfectly but smooth enough, that i have a good feeling while reuse, there was lightly iritations felt, but not realy as ripples. now i started the rework of the whole spindle. When i swaped the Engine of my Horse, i purchased a cool Toolbox, that helped me now a lot. How to repressing the Shaft over the upper section? i do it this Way. gently pullin* and it slips nearly itself together. This moves about 8cm in distances at all.and finally it is well resettled together. the Lower ballbearing is pressed gently with same construct into the Pipe. And Tadaaaa can be rotated with 2 fingers again.

Tractorhead 9,064 #270 Posted December 13, 2019 Im not afraid of that, i know it‘s just a lot of work to do before. had yesterday such a „nobody need“ experience. Drove home and after i get out of the car i smell something - no, it was not myself, there was something different... 😱😂 It smells like hot Brakepads.😱 Then i hear a fizzeling noise from right side, i also wondered, that the Car moves felt heavy the last 1500 meters after a hard Brake ( hum, nexttime i shouldnt brake - harvesting Deerbeef) The nightmare was a fizzeling Brakedisc, hot enough to boil a handful of eggs on it. It was -7deg C but luckily dry Weater at 20:00 Clock local time, than i decide i must take an eye on it, because next day to the job is about 16 Km - not funny with a rotten Brake. So i grab fix the Jack and my Toolbox and tried to opened the bolts for the right Wheel to remove tyre. Screws are seemed tightening by impact wrench on max torque i bet. I grab a 2m Steelpipe, what was required to open the Screws.🤔🤪 After releasing ( with gloves) because rims are also hot, i see the Brakes was wrong mounted, the (normally brakepads fixing) Spring was not right inserted and clamped the Bricks. The Brakedisc wasn’t old and had nearly flame new Bricks in, but they just put on Rust and dirt. they be mounted loveless and knowledgeless. I just can ask myself what an idiot was working on that brakes, if he don‘t had any kind of knowledge about. I put a fixed jack to secure the Car and decide to rework the Brakes a bit earlier than i had normally planed even if it‘s dang Cold outside. Remove firstly the wrong inserted Spring and found, the Brakepads are clamping also whilst rust and dirt wasn‘t removed before inserting the Bricks. Grabed my Wrench and quick remove the saddle and pry and press it few times to release it fore and back, than i cleaned the whole mechanic where they acting with steelbrush, same like brakepad sled. after all was cleaned, i greased slightly a bit with copperpaste on the sledge areal (i still love it to use copperpaste instead of ceramic paste to prevent oxydation on brakes) Than i remount the Brakes as they must be, click the Spring in right direction and do a test. yap, works - verify if saddle releases - yup, it does ! the result - nearly no wobble on Pedal and smooth moving Brakesaddle. What a mess to fix an idiots Work at this temps outside without a garage.
Tractorhead 9,064 #271 Posted December 14, 2019 Dang! Another big issue was solved. Because new road safety check was my first issue, i have to fix it up quickly. So i begun today to disassembled the „newbie“ Firstly harvesting ol Parts out as in the old. The Steeringwheel pops easily without any force down the spindle as it should. - nice... because of big storm and several hard rainshowers, it was not too funny work with open door. than i decide to wait a bit whilst looking at Weathersat, a good choice i did. in this time i investigate the old spindle a bit closer. Here you can see the blasted Ballbearing, what gives the clicking ratchetsound and the weak steering. in a Windfree 15 min.later, I reinserted the Spindle and fixed it up. easy to handle if you did it in right way. first mount the Cardan shaft on the lower side, tan insert the whole spindle, fuddeling onto Steeringgear and - tadaa. Tightening the Screws and bolts all on the Spindlemounts and it‘s time for a Coffee ! after that coffe i reinserted the whole switches, knobs and the Transponderantenna and change the Keylock with the old one. i‘d just like to have one Key for the Car. Remount Steeringwheel and - done! after that i reworked the left side Brake ( but here i had no Picts, i‘m in a weather hurry.) after all work is done, i took a one hour Testdrive, even a headed onto Autobahn. The new „reworked“ spindle works very smooth no irritations can be felt, even at 178Km/h it Runs fine like a Gentlemen. the turns make fun and i‘m close to ready for TÜV. what a great day, now Snow can come... 😎🤔😇 1
Tractorhead 9,064 #272 Posted December 31, 2019 New Brake Calipers are finally delivered. so i can rework the botched brakes on the whole Car. Brake discs and bricks also delivered, it seems after New Year i can finally fix completely the whole Brakes and then i will again have a working handbrake too. one step closer to finalize the Road approval
Tractorhead 9,064 #273 Posted January 26, 2020 Reworked today the rear end of the Beast. because i plan a complete quickmount cabin, i changed the rear Plate into Fullsize, that i able to build a rear window out of Macrolon. Therefore a straight lightbar make more sense, to simply use a rectangle Window. It‘s made of Aluminum
Tractorhead 9,064 #274 Posted February 15, 2020 What a funny Day... Because of no snow, i do the monthly checkup and Enginerun on my machines, after the Horse has it’s check done and still is running in idle, i do it on the Beast. Both engines starts without any issues, all machines work in all functions as expected. then i recover the Horse , but whilst the engine on the Beast was still running, i spontaneusely decide today, to have a longer ride today with the Beast to recharge the Battery fully. So i started my today’s Tour firstly thru the forrest, later along the Country roads. I drove with 2/3 throttle smooth and steady the Way. Few minutes later i see a Police Car on patrol (first time in our Area), but i know everything is right and clear. They just drove about few hundret meters and ask me some questions thru the open Window.. 😂😂 All was fine with Paperwork and they leave me. What a crazy Check..🤔😂😂😂 i still crossing the Raulroad and then come a long straight so i decide to see if my Fella is at home or not. still on his place, but he went out. than i jump back in the Seat and fireup the Beast to continue my Tour. on my way back, i passing few Fields down the Railroad i drove along on some country roads to the Valley, where i purchased last year my Potato seed. i grabbed a 10Kilos and put in the FEL (what a great trunk) while i talking with the Farmer and his lady, 2 neighbours of him come to us and ask me several things about the Beast. They both thinkering to buy such a small tractor as an addon for the Boy‘s, especially for their Boys, later they offered me they want purchase also for themself but the Ladies - you know.... 😂😂😂 to give them more fun to do that work. I told them this Garden Tractors was just my hobby, nothing i wanna earn money with, but it seems i started here a „hype“ for small tractors today...🤔 ... and it was not really their Boy‘s they get fire and flames on...😂😂😂 While we are talking about the“ small GT pro and cons“ few neighbour come and we had a nice conversation. They told me i was the first one with such a small roadlegal Minitractor who droves in this Area. ok, i get some dubious views about the max speed on 14 Km/h but it moves and i be independantly and - it is my Hobby no more no less. We discussed a lot about fuels, new one or older one, and different points what they can do. Than i must give them a small Demonstration on my small selfmade FEL, what it is able to do. they be impressed, what that little thing can handle, they doubt it will handle. the bigges laughs i earned for my counterweightbox... but i can live with. they thaught i transport Pig feed... 😂😂😂😂😂😂 but the pallet fork becomes still its interesting. Lifting 450Kilos was enough for most of their needs. I carefully try for initiate maybe within the next years a plowday, maybe somedays 😎 and get in first some curious views of how and what i meant, i told them about my Fellas in the US are doing this, that‘s much more fun than „just pull“ with the bigger machine. This can be done later still further but that is just a challenge of Fun. It can be started as an plow for Fun and ends up in a challenge, but Fun must be in foreground on this „Plowday“ So everybody can learn and test if his setup was good or if there are possibilities to enhance or imporove. This idea get‘s different responses, but i felt about that conversation, the interest is given.👍 Than i thanks for the Coffee, we get from the Boss (Farmers lady) 😂 and i continue my Way. with the seed in the FEL i drove back home. along Country roads, and finally passing the Forrest back home. I like that view thru the Mountains they about 50 Km Far. i just missed the snow, but not this day, that was a perfect excuse for no Snow. End of the day‘s result: What a nice ride with a great meeting - and the Battery in the Beast is now definitiv fully Charged.
Tractorhead 9,064 #275 Posted February 25, 2020 Reworked today a bit my 2 sided Plow, to be able to Attach to my Horse. before, i thinked i will attach it tothe Beast, but while its a smaller one and my tyredistances are now changed while the FEL needs this width, i simply decided to use it on my Wheelhorse. 16 HP should be enough to pull it, but we will see. Than i thinkering how to build the attachment. Because of available hydraulics, i plan to use the single FEL cylinder for lift my Plow. This idea get fixed and i begin to build the new fast swiper. therefore i removed the attached Lever and rewelded it in 180 degrees. Than i misused a galvanized round Steel plate, and cutted a hole in the middle section and remove the zinc. I had it in spare from an old Hydraulic Leveling system, that was the bottom plates, what shall be stiff enough for my needs. A 1 1/4“ steel pipe is now the Main beam , where i also removed the zinc and a welded angle iron builds the end. i choose a lenght of 5“, that i had allready. On this end i welded another rect. Steelpipe with 20mm inner diameter, where i can later use a 20mm threaded rod as Axle for the lift mechanism. I‘m not sure if this will work as expected, but i will try. At least for today, i try to find the right Angle for the Plow, and it seems i did it. depending on weather situation i must interrupt for now, but welding only the lever to lift was not a big Deal. Another stormy winds shall come and i decided to stop my work for few day‘s. The brake discs ( weight) will be moved more to the Axle and the end section will be redrilled with 20mm to be able to support the threaded rod as Lever. curious, if this will work. my first „plow day“ is now just few steps (days or maybe weeks) ahead. 1
