Tractorhead 9,064 #176 Posted August 15, 2019 Was today at my Friend‘s Workshop. He told me he hasn‘t much time to spent, because they prepared for Racetrack. I told him i just need Workshop to prepare few Things for my FEL. Also i need the Visit to lurk onto his new Toy... (he allows me to show you) Hey Tom, - whoooooow what a nice tractor - and where is the Mowerdeck? 😂😂 coudn‘t find it.. 😎🚜 Before he was able to kill me, i went out and help Stefan to trailer his Car, until he stops and jumps a bit nervous arround. Oh no, please no- not now. Searchin* still nothin to hear, as he mentioned, hey Tom, stop stacking things for me, i cannot Race while Rearaxle is broken. Tom and me thinkin hes jokeing, but if we realize that was fact, Tom and i look together have a view to the car and told him: „Hey buddy, no problem we dissassembled quick the Rearaxle and fix it.“ Stefan was in shock, he thinks maybe we are jokes. Quick grabbin Toolset, Carjack and begin with dismount on the Trailer. After we see the rip, we decided to dismount the whole rearaxle and repair it. So we pulled the whole Trailer in the Workshop and 1-2-3 half rearaxle was out. done as said, quick remove the right rear wishbone and Tom rewelds it. He welds also an enforcer in and we reworks the whole Car together, that they can start tomorrow their Tour to Racetrack. This was planned long ago, and it was important to my Buddy‘s, so it wasn‘t any question i must help. After Finish, we realign the Setup, both Axles has same fall setting- no difference measured. Soooo buddy‘s Finished Work, time for me to cut few Pieces of Steel for my FEL. While the delivered has a size, i didn‘t want to use, i shortly decide to make my own Levers. Cutting grinding drilling and i have Levers for the Hydraulic lift‘s. If Tube come as promised, i can hopefully finished tomorrow my Hydraulics, Otherwise hopefully this Weekend. 2

Tractorhead 9,064 #179 Posted August 15, 2019 Yap a real cool new Toy what he have. I allway’s still searching for his Mowerdeck. 😂 It must be a sickle Bar, i guess. 😂😂 They heading tomorrow to Italy few km southly of Verona - about 650- 700Km far from here. There is an nice Racetrack, maybe not the fastest, but extreme good for fast curve Training. No long highspeed distances. but a lot of different speedcurves. Tractorhead 9,064 #180 Posted August 16, 2019 After the quick repair my Buddies started today early. They now at the Racetrack and i can do my work further on my FEL. Firstly i install the Tubes for a first Basic Test of Hydraulics, because i cannot Wait longer. 0FDC4BAB-4D34-4DCC-B731-E15985EC8A3A.MOV Than i doing the First Test, if all is fine and nothing leaky. yap, it is. Than i started Welding of the Tilt cylinders, the Mounts onto. While i‘m Welding, im running out of Welding wire. 😱🙄 upps, i missed to buy one Welding wire ahead in spare. Quick jump into Car and drove to Hardware Store.😎 just a normal Welding Wire was available. Hum - ok, get it. But now i need Gas to Weld, but where to get, stores allmost closed because yesterday was a Holiday. So i decide for a quick rework, that i can Weld further. As a quick solution i rework a Sodaclub CO2 Cylinder to use it as Welding Gas. While consumpt 12Litre/min im able to Weld nearly 1/4 h continousely, what is not perfect, but usable for my Daily Work. A Sodastream cylinder is much more easier to get than Welding Gas today. So i‘m able to finish my Weldings today. First try with the Cylinders on long edge, second Try with precalculated and new drilled holes. Angle is perfect for me. so a Quickmount will work as i expecting. Also the max tilt i reach is pretty nice. I will later weld an enforcement sideway‘s, to stiff it more. at least i dismount the Shovel from my Horse, to try it onto the Beast. Playing a bit with Lift Hydraulics, to bleed. Tomorrow is planed to grind the Weldings a bit, and measure the Tubes for Tilt cylinders. 2

Tractorhead 9,064 #184 Posted August 17, 2019 Nearly Finished. Just the Tubes for tiltcylinder must be ordered. Starting today with dismount the Shovel, than i dismount the Cylinders. Than i grind the Weldings a bit smoother. yap, looks good. Repaint the Arms after Test. than i jump into the Car an drove to Hardware store, because Gas is about nearly empty. just to be prepared, as i see a Paint, that comes closely to the Blue of my Beast. Hey it was also a rustpreventing Color -same like Hamerite. i grab a bottle of black and blue and my Gas and drove home. Adter Painting i compare and it seems the same Color. cool. what to do while waiting - decide to rework the Shovel. the Base idea was given ahead with quickchanger. Welding here Welding there and set additional Seems to enforce. than i opened the Black and paint it a bit. The Result looks pretty nice.
Pullstart 62,882 #185 Posted August 17, 2019 Who’d have thought... CO2 “fountain pop” gas would work for a welder.....? Genius Stefan! That’s who!
Tractorhead 9,064 #186 Posted August 17, 2019 It was a simple choice not to buy a Big Gas bottle. I‘m searching in the Aquarium store for CO2, because the normally have 5 litre bottles, but just bigger bottles available. cost 120€/filling + deposit of 80€. - for just few Weldings too much money. so i thinkin about my options, how i can get a bit CO2 as Gas, the Hardwarestore has few smaller bottles 2 Litres, but no Pressureregulator for and a mini finethread i have no adapters for. The bottle costs 28€ And it’s a one Way bottle - no deposit. Than i see the Sodaclub display in the Hardwarestore, they offer an extrabottle gas including deposit 12,80 the filling about 7,99. it was about half the price of the Oneway Bottle. i simply remember i had purchased several months ago a refilleradapter for, what have an thread for big Bottles. So my decision was simply and clear, bring those both together an test how long i can Weld.😎 Have 2 reason‘s for using small bottles, firstly i wanna have that much Material in my less Space, on the other hand the weight is perfect for a quick repair Welding even if i must each time carry it. i‘m still satisfied, it works longer than i calculated or expected.😎 by app. 13l/min i can 20 minutes Welding and there is still a bit rest in the Bottle. for quick fieldrepairs it was a perfect solution with a Generator. 1
Tractorhead 9,064 #187 Posted August 18, 2019 What means proud to me? it‘s very simple. i‘m proud of things like that.... Harvesting today another 3 Plants, result was 5 Kilo‘s, bit less than last 3 Plants but still enough for a Week. Doing things my Way and get such a response, that makes me really Proud. Until now i just had 1 rotten potatoe attacked by a mouse in this row, all the rest was usable, some are a bit small, because my curiosity, but every Harvest was a win for me. for only biological handling, i have heard a good result. But the best of all was the Taste. 2
Tractorhead 9,064 #188 Posted August 19, 2019 Yesterday ordered the rest of Hydraulic tubes and fittings, they shall come this week. In between i bleeded again the Lifts today, try to capture it with the Camera. As i know from the Small Horse FEL build, it will depend few lifts until all air is bleeded, easier with more weight. Tried some weight in, but afraid to lift to max, because shovel is not actually secured. but it was impressive enough just with the Shovel. Tractorhead 9,064 #191 Posted August 23, 2019 First test was done. Finally today the nearly last Parts arrived. So far, i‘m excited. After Work i went urgent home and started immediately the Welder. Quick buzzin the precutted Steel on the Quickchanger. Than i drill it complete with 16mm, and build 2 drilles Bolts for quick dismounting. Thinkerin about a hand lever to release as by the huge Quickchangers, but this few minutes i have to release the Bolts. Than i installed the both Tee‘s and do a bit Plumbing. For the securebolts i‘m using a bit stiffer Pipe as an defined weak point. I‘m doing this not to Overload or stress the Shovel too much while pulling, than i try the first bleed and refill Hydraulic Fluid. After that, i do some Seattime on my Wheelhorse, and mow the Lawn, and arround the House. While i‘m done i Fired up the Beast and drove to Mart’l, because i want to drive in the Forrest, to bleed the FEL Complete. Therefore i asking Mart‘l if i can play with the gravel in the Forrest, he allows me at my own risk. 😎🚜 But he forbid me to take foto‘s in or from this Areal, so i leaf the iPad at home, Sorry, no Pics available while Playing. Diggin several Times fully Shovels and it works better as i expected. Try a bigger Rock, the FEL was easily able to lift, no Stress can be heared from Hydraulic. First time it reacts a bit huckly, but after bleeding very smooth. After about one hour Playing, i clean the areal up as it was, and have another hour just Trip with the Beast. i like to see if FEL makes some noises or sounds, i didn‘t like to hear. Funny how far in that little Timeline can be driven. Passing few Valley‘s just by riding along the Forrestry Way. No Sounds occurs, the give me a bad Feeling. I absolutely enjoy the ride, the FEL was stiff enough, but gets later additionally Enforcement on the Lifterangles. i like to reinforce it, to last longer. After i‘m back, i try do dig in my Potatoefield. How the Fel will work in Earth. Not bad at all, i‘m satisfied with my Work. parking both beside, to show the dimensions.
Pullstart 62,882 #192 Posted August 23, 2019 So cool! Is there a chance you could build a purpose built snow bucket that is wider?
Tractorhead 9,064 #193 Posted August 23, 2019 Yes, i can everytime upgrade to a larger Bucket, because of fast changer. Simple 2 Bolts out and release Shovel by Hydraulics, lift new Bucket and set 2 Bolts in. I found a 1,20 m Bucket as Construction Kit in a good Pricerange, but now first a small Sicklebar or a bigger Hedgesaw is searched as upgrade. I didn‘t wanna Cut the Hedge by Hand anymore...😎

Tractorhead 9,064 #195 Posted August 24, 2019 (edited) Doing few inspections today after the Trip from Yesterday. Firstly i checked all the joints, if somwhere was a weak point. But nothing found, Than i greased the whole 3 Point. Tyres are good but how is the Pressure? Yesterday while Diggin i found in front left wheel a bit Air was missing. FL 0,8 Bar increades to 1,2 Bar FR 1.0 Bar increased to 1,2 Bar. RL 1,0 Bar - looks good RR 1,1 Bar deflating to 1,0 Bar inspected the Seat Holder, if troubles occur, but nothing. Than i drove back in Frontyard after Mowing with the Horse. doing again some Stresstests with the FEL. all seems fine and i decide it‘s time to clean and Paint the Frontend. Click out the Shovel and prepare with rust protection, after drying, add some Paint. whiles it goes easier, i droped the Shovel. Cool how that works. Still thinkering on the Tilt mount on the Quickchanger, how to stiffning. Few ideas i thinkering has their advantages and disadvantages. After Work i polish the Hood and readjusted the Frontlights, to shine a bit more ahead. I love the Quickchanger, it was a good decision to implement to the Beast. Tractorhead 9,064 #196 Posted August 29, 2019 Today‘s cleanup i have to do in the Bath not in Bucket. cigarettbox is xxl size and just to compare. Today‘s 4 Plants will result in 7,5 Kg. The last harvest i shared with Mart‘l, the Owner of my small Field, who allows me to make things my Way. He told me his daughter loves Potatoes, independent how they Served and after she try, she‘s asking for some more.. - but just if possibly 2
Tractorhead 9,064 #197 Posted August 30, 2019 Today‘s Plan was to build a new Roof. Precutted the Parts and talk to our Welder, i wanna do a bit Training after Work in Aluminum Tig. 1/2 hour later he brings me the Welded Roof.🤔 i‘m sure thankful, because he do it every Day, but my Training was done 😎 However, the result looks like this Then i drove home and had some troubles to get it out of the car. i fit‘s sucked in... after releasing, i did a first Try of look. not bad at all and i firstly painted the lower section, to be able to mount, ahead i drilled the holes. Than i cleaned the rest of Surface and Painted it the Color is nearly similar to the Tractor, just a smal bit darker. let‘s dry the Paint. Fired up the Griller.... Time for Lunch.. 1 1

Stormin 9,981 #199 Posted August 30, 2019 Tidy job, Stefan. Just thinking though. If something heavy landed on the front of the frame, it could possibly bend down or break. Maybe it could use some support at the front?

The Roof was just first Part of the Job. This will not be the final Status, i‘m still waiting for Lasered Parts ( enforce, ends) on wich the Front Mask will be fixed. After i build a Windscreen. The Rest of Cabin will (may) be made of plans. No finalized Planed.
