Tractorhead 9,064 #76 Posted May 10, 2019 (edited) Change 2 Seats. Because my last Seattime with my Beast i got some bumps in my Back. So i decided to Change the Seat with a Damped one. Therefore i must drill few holes, then the Seat fits. looks nice and the Seatfeeling is perfect. After that i have it’s Seat as spare, but what shall i do with it - hum, The Seat on my Horse is also Strongly worn, so i changed it to the spare, Therefore i keep the Springs for good Seattime and make 2 mounting plates to Fit the Seat to the Horse. the Seat feeling was unusal but not Bad. a bit more space for the feets make it more comfortable while using and also i get a bit more Weight on the Rearaxle. After that i do a testride and mow arround the House. That was the best issue, because of the aslant way... the Grip was much better and also sideway driving is better. After that i changed to the Beast and drove about 2h trip thru the Forrest, later a bit onroad... I enjoyed this Seattime, also at harder Offroad, because i got no beatings in the back. Even if the way is realy bumpy. so far both operations was a Success. Edited May 10, 2019 by Tractorhead 2
Tractorhead 9,064 #77 Posted May 17, 2019 (edited) Filled up two rows, one with early potatoes and the second with mid sort. As filler i used the composted earth. To get it, i use my beloved Wheelhorse with FEL to dig into the compost to release allready composted earth. than, i get 4 Shovels of fresh Earth and distribute it in the rows. While i drove with the horse, suddenly the Brakewire rips. i decided to rework the Brake by a linkage. after i adapted the Linkage into System i did the last Shovel with the reworked new Brakes. so i got a better Response on the Brake, while i‘m implement a stronger Spring. Another thing is solved. and as allway‘s impressive, how good that simple leightweight FEL works, even in Compost and at earth diggin. It still has its Hair- rip but it lasts. Curious how long it will stay until it breaks. Honestly the 200 Series are mostly to lightweighted and its weight is the limit for the depth while diggin, but as far as it did, it was allway’s impressive enough for me how strong that little FEL works. While i have a lot of work actually, i have no much time to build the new FEL. Most parts are still here but time is rare actually. In that Case i‘m just glad, to have my small Wheelhorse, wich work that Way. Edited May 17, 2019 by Tractorhead 3
Tractorhead 9,064 #78 Posted May 18, 2019 Daughter has her Driverlicense. To give her a bit more independence she‘s looking for a small Car. Today we found it, so i was busy by check this Car, if it‘s worth a buy. 2h of inspection and a testdrive later we ended up, by pickup the Car for few bucks. Take care, she is now on the Road....😂 i know, not really a Wheelhorse, but in Color and the size close to ... 👍 2 2

Tractorhead 9,064 #81 Posted May 18, 2019 After the Car purchase, i went home to start the construct for the new Fencegate. here is the Field i need an Gate for. Therefore i planed to split the Fence gate in 2. one with 2 meter and anotherone with one meter. so i organized bit Metall and build a simple Frame. After Welding i painted it with Hamerite in green, to hide the metal later. The both longer woods will be the carrier and mounted on the Frame, where finally the fence slats will be mounted. One side with 2 hinges mounted
Tractorhead 9,064 #82 Posted May 19, 2019 (edited) Today finished the new Entrance. So i prepared yesterday the whole frame and mount today the Woodlines to reinforce a bit more the welded Frame. It is clear for me, that this was not selfcarrying gate, so it must be lifted by Hand but while it will be built leightweight that can easily done. In this case manual Lift is easy going, because the field is relatively stiff and needs just a bit liftsupport. after i mounted the hinges, i mount the Whole construct to the concrete post. Ahead i changed 2 Fields, one more rotten (i use as Material spare) with the one i reworked. The Carriers on the Fencefield i have now as Material was nearly complete rotten. While mounting the Gateframe (weight is at this point 3Kilo) and because of the Ponds age and the missing knowledge, how it was built, i don't want make things heavy weighted.. Than i disassembled the complete old fence Field, to get the used Stakettes, because of their used look. While Disassembling i found that a section at 99cm was pretty good in shape, so that i can use it as a Fixpoint for the Lock. So i decide to keep this thing as it is and make it just Fix. use the jigsaw to cut the Field out of the rest. Than i disnailed all the stakettes and screw them onto my Gate. Several stakette i screwed double, to give the whole construct more Stiffness. From my Cutted Carriers i have now 2 pieces with 1meter as rest. From this Spare i build a Post for more Stiffness at the Fixpoint. the straight upwards running fence i interrupt by make a straight Field. the right section (1 meter) i let run a bit ascending to the right, to get close to the Original. To reinforce the Post, i added a 8 by 8cm thick Solid Woodblock, wich will be later Screwed to the Concrete Socked, if i got my Hilti back from my Daughter.😎 To keep the Gate at the height in place, i spend additionally a Thinner Maple stick, but while there come a Weater, i interrupt for now. Then i see my first home made selfpropellered Lawn mower... while check, i found that rust has rotten few Weldings. my final work was ... Save my Microhorse.... 😂😂😂 i build this Vehicle as a Fun project before i got my Wheelhorse. it was a just 4 h Quickbuild, but it is still in Service. Selfpropellered Lawn mower combined with a Child Kettcar. Funny to ride... Edited May 19, 2019 by Tractorhead 2

They give me for free, thinkin i‘m trash it, but in my mind, this Mowcart was allready built. The whole Frontsection is just screwed and can be Reworked maybe in an hour back to a Lawnmower.

I have to correct you, and even me we went both wrong..... She‘s called me, if i have a bit time at Weekend and i think i know the next question, but she surprizes me just by ask to show her some things. Firstly she want to fix some light corrosion herself, we had seen at our check and after she likes to repainted the repair job. She doesn‘t have any Fear for tools. Also she wanted a full instruction - „more as only simple oilcheck“ - because she like to be able to repair her Car self. Urgent for her is, the Car must be technical in good condition, optics are not so important but if it is necessary for stability she wanna do it, she want to learn everything about her new Car. What is for what and how to fix if it‘s defect. Oh, Boy, i can say i never was so surprized by her, as while this Call, im honestly proud for such a Daughter. Normally i have to know it, because she was the first Daughter, who‘s repaired her Bicicle herself. Fix flats and greasing the chain, serviced the Brakes, she did everything self. She never ask „Daddy, can you repair“, she allway’s ask „Daddy, can you show me how to repair. I wanna do it myself. 3 1
Stormin 9,981 #86 Posted May 21, 2019 Good girl you've got there. Youngest daughter would call round for anything. Even for windscreen water bottle to be filled. "But you have all the stuff", she would say. I was pleased when she got married.
Pullstart 62,881 #87 Posted May 22, 2019 I am hoping these tractors will be just the beginning as my girls grow up, and we will be able to work on their vehicles the same, with them by my side learning how! Well done Stephan!

Tractorhead 9,064 #89 Posted June 8, 2019 After a stronger Flu i‘m back in Service. While im lifted the Agave with the Rearfork back in Fontyard, i hit the Horse after that Action on the rearfork and lift it into Frontyard. to mount the Mowerdeck. A mistake was done, while i drop to early, so the Aluminum Pulley‘s they are located on the Hydraulic pump, both are blasted by movin into Frontyard, i exchange them with a Taper Version in Solid Steel. Diameter was 90mm, than i rework the Mowerdeck lever a bit, that it has more space to the Pulley. Today i do a Testmow, to see if and how it works. Quick resharpened the Blades and fiddling around the Deck height -yes, the Deck works quite better. Smoother surface after mowing so i got an Success. Next issue was the mowing on slope, here i have also an massive improovement. Then i cleanup the old Compost place, to have space for some Birch trim cut. The whole compost was about half meter height. using the FEL to Cleanup and park the Trailer outside the Frontyard beside the new Gate. i love it if Things work that way, just the Drop from Trailer must be made by Hand. After the compost cleanup i trim the Birch from dead wood. Later i move the Horse outside and mow arround the House. To Cleanup the road, i try a new implement in combination with lawnsweeper, It was just an idea so i give it a Try. looks funny but it works better than i expected. To stiffned the riped FEL i rewelded the Rips and recover it, i hope it Lasts. then i made 2 Bushings on my minilathe made of Brass and put it into rim on the Frontaxle and grease it. made them with a Greaseline into. Also this works pretty nice, so the Frontwheels have now less play and rotates easier. I decided Brass, what has capability of emergency selflubricating. So i hope to drop the Wear in long Term. If they don‘t last that long as i expected, The Bushings can be easily exchanged if the wear is too high. let‘s see how long they last... Then, while moving things, i got a crazy idea... 😂ok, maybe it works, i will try if Potatoes are out. I love my universal Horse used as a Hard worker, it was so small, but extremely useful. Even while moving my Trailer or carry heavy things with the FEL, it was a kind of Universal Tool usable for everything, i never imagine before. Things my Wheelhose will lift and move, i must not carry by myself. Let‘s have a Coffee..😎 1

Tractorhead 9,064 #91 Posted June 8, 2019 (edited) Thanks Kevin, I must interrupt the cleanup of the Compost, because i had a huge Hornets nest in. The Hornets doesn’t be very amused about my doing.. Ok, shifting the Timeline a bit to later. Then i’m doing a closer inspection about the Status of my Potatoes and i found, that (i think fieldmice) has eaten several of my Late sort. They don‘t touch actually my early sort, so i hope the late sort works as a part of Ban mile for them. we will see. Then i fired the Beast With the Plow doing a ridging on the early sort, but forgot to setup the Plow much deeper.😱 ok several plants missed now a bit of they‘re upper leaves, but i hope i didn‘t destroy them.🙄 Some day’s are not mine....🤓 or they maybe they are ...👍 while i don‘t wanna allway’s be in dependency to wait if i can work in any Workshop of others, i thinking to purchase myself a bigger Welder. I preferr an 200A Type Inverter, once because of the weight and a Worktime of 65% sounds good to me. Also 155A of Continouse Welding seems to be fine so far for me. Hey, i need a bit time to have a Coffee between the Weldings, i‘m not in a stress.. so therefore i observe several machines and while i just only work outside, i‘m lurking for a Combi welder, what integrates mig/mag, Tig and Flux and is also be able to weld Aluminum. Yes, i know Mig/mag on Aluminum is Rape, but it‘s just a possibility. On my search (just wanna use it privat) i found few machines in lower Pricerange, that seems to be interesting in my opinion. I knew, there will be no professional Tools be sold in that Range, but i just need it sometimes for repairs, thats the Reason for a Cheap one. Ooops, while i wanna click in *bay on observe, i clicked beside and allready ordered a new Welder😎 ok, not a real problem, it was on my watchlist, because my old one is defect and parts are more expensive that the new one - so sometimes things must be exchanged..😂 Edited June 8, 2019 by Tractorhead
Tractorhead 9,064 #92 Posted June 8, 2019 To have more clearance, i dig the potatoes by Hand to see what is fact. what a mess, 80% of my seeded Potatoes late and mid sort have eating tracks. Thinkin what should i do, but i replant them and give it a Try. worst case scenario was, that my mostly seed was completly eaten and no Potatoes can be harvested this rows. Then i mount the FEL Shovel on the Beast‘s threepoint and grading the 2 rows. let time goes by and see what happen.
Tractorhead 9,064 #93 Posted June 17, 2019 (edited) Attack... fast as a Shark... That was the Beginning so they are now.... (im proud of) find yesterday the first Bug in my early Potatoes. unlucky but it was actually just one visible. i killed her and search each plant and each leaf on both sides for eggs. found several and rubbed all with my fingers flat, because no bugs Welcome.... I hope i found mostly all eggs. Ahead i prepared my Plants with dryed Coffee powder 3 times and they grow pretty, so far i‘m happy. but after i find the first Bug im on Alarm. As i told, i don‘t wanna use any Poison helpes, but how to Prevent the Bugs on naturally Way? i use also 3 times a Mixture from second cooked Coffee with caraway in. but this should be ineffective, or it just works if the larvae staring to eat? i‘m unshure, but i don‘t wanna fail with my Potatoes, because i proud, they growing pretty until now. my first issue was mowing arround the Survived Row, to keep the Grass short arround. any Help will greatly appreciated. If you mean mowing along the right hand side, I don't see a problem. Just drag your F.E.L. over the grass to level it, then mow.

Tractorhead 9,064 #96 Posted June 18, 2019 Wooohoooo, after comeing home i do my daily investigation about the Beetles. so i found this optics.. nice, i love it. after closer investigation no beetle found and by a very close inspection i just found one egg today, maybe i missed. then i wonder about that... This was in the row of the Late sort... This i found on the Mid sort‘s row.... curious, maybe a few has survived the Mouse Attack. Still be curious if more will occur or if they grow before they been eaten. Inspection show‘s no Beetle eggs under the lumber. Woooohoooo.
Tractorhead 9,064 #97 Posted June 18, 2019 (edited) Got a phone call now, the parts for the consoles for my FEL are allready in production. With a bit Luck, i get them tomorrow. i could not understand how long this takes, because i Pay for. however, i can‘t wait until they arrive, if so, i can drill the wholes in and mount them for adapting the Main Bar. I rethinkin the whole construction, while i will be able for quick change. Hope the parts will come soon, so i can Try my new Welder maybe on this weekend, to find out how good it really works.. 😎😇 Edited June 18, 2019 by Tractorhead 1
Tractorhead 9,064 #98 Posted June 19, 2019 (edited) Everyday inspection results in just 2 Eggs i found. every Plant was inspected closely. Hey, they‘re looking pretty Cool Enjoy, how my Potatoes grown...😎 As i informed myself, the Potatoe Beetle shall be one of the biggest disaster in Agriculture, not only here, it shall be a Problem arround the World and i wanna try, if i‘m able in any Way to reduce this Population. After i do some biological Prevention with Coffeepowder, what keep the disaster small at my side, i‘m start to solve that problem on my Way. Therefore i insulated few eggs, to find a way, prevent or kill them or to reduce the Mass of them. I think to handle with poison is an absolute nogo at things i wanna eat, on this Point i think anybody will be conform with me. To use bacteria (biological fight) is also no Way i wanna do, because i don‘t know, what they do, if they go in the Potatoes, longterm with my Health. So another Way i imagine was a technical one, to boil the Eggs of the Beetles even on the Plants, without interrupt the grown of the Plants itself By using Microwave radiation. I‘ll thinkin about to kill the Larves by electromagnetic or Microwafe radiation with concentrated and focussed Radiation, without disturb the Green on the Plant itself, can be a usable Way, to drop the polulation in the Future. The Beetles develops quick a resistance against some poison, didn‘t have eating enimy‘s here and be a plague. Tractorhead 9,064 #99 Posted June 19, 2019 Sooo, back from my „homework“. got today my Consoles, i just need to drill them Myself. they are made of carbonsteel in 10mm thickness. more than needed. The issue i reinforce the thickness this way, is to be able to use them with different Things i wanna talk about now. Not sure, if the Weather is usable tomorrow, if so i will mount the Consoles and prepare the transverse Strut to weld it on. Length is allready cutted, but i like build it forceless on the Machine, to take care of light delay in any way. So i‘m also able to measure it to get a clean Basement. sorry, but it was now to dark for Pics, but they follow soon.
