Increasing my herd...

Hi fellas & reader‘s of my Stories,

because i see that the mole try to capture my field again, i will show him, where is the Border.

(i know, this will beeing hard for him, but he has few hundret of squaremeters arround my small field,

where he can diggin.)

😂

Today i given the Beast some Seat time & the Tiller...

Because i like the Soil easing, i try my 2 Things directly after for 5 times.

Firstly i mounted the Plogh, and finalize the new Lights in the Beast.

What a sharp lookin silhouette.5AF4303E-7DCB-498B-AA8A-6D4A6135ED0C.jpeg.f7238d609b2a8d4112444d6e6b1968e8.jpeg

The Beast gets evil eyes, but that wasn‘t my goal ( but i like it) this new Lights are 100% Roadlegal with e approval. 😇

They fit nearly perfect in the existing holes, so i have just a bit of rework what must be done.

After that i started the Tiller and passing my Field the length.

Then i started „The Beast“ and plogh the whole Field in 7 rows 3 times.

at least i drove with half depth plogh, to egalize the field.

In the Rows i want finaly 3 rows, then i again passing with the Tiller in the moulds.

yes, i know, the rightsided row was nice but the others... ok - please no comment.😂

i‘m bit older... hahaha

im doing this 5 Times, each time i repeat, i get deeper in plogh.

at least i set the depth on about 30cm.

my rows can be now about 30cm deep but i set the last plogh down to 25cm deep.

keep it for few day‘s then t will do this again. The structure of the field gets smoother and smoother.

think i can try this year to seed first time.

One small thing i missed, was a simple Footpedal for acceleration in addition to the hand lever while ploghing,

it was a bit awkward and a footpedal seems a good issue if you come to the end of the Field to reduce the speed.

Had a mole here. Set a trap last week and it's no more. For little things they can't half make a mess.

When ploughing, don't look back on the move. You can pull on the steering wheel and that will put you off course.

Decided shortly to seed - now!

Talking with a Farmer i know, who‘s passing the Way, if and what type of seedpotatoes he have.

He told me, he has a few spare, i can have if i like.

We had a nice conversation about what sort has wich advantages and what are risks on my first try.

We talked about herb rot, and some other risks, what can be happen and he was excited, that i had done my Homework

ahead very consequently and already good Informed me and learned a lot ahead.

So my questions can be brought on point.

He meant it’s Rare, that beginners doing a preperation that way ahead,

mostly they come and doing some silly questions and buy 3 Seedpotatoes, if they fail, they meant he has bad Material.🤔

While we talking, time is running and he invites me to come quick to his Farm, to choose my favorite seed.

I didn’t hesitate and jumped into my car and drove to his Farm, where i asked him for 3 Types i preferr:

Named Belinda, Princess and Desiree

He offers me as equal to Belinda one Sort, ( i think it named carlisle) , they was a late Sort with deep yellow flesh

and for „Desiree“ he offers me Sunshade, big potatoes, perfect for salads.

I thinking short to myself and he offers me all sorts - the whole sortiment for a very good price, so i i didn‘t hesitate, i take em.

put all in Car and quick drove home.

After comeing home, i seed them immediately, each row one sort.

so my Bodyworkout for today was done... 😂

Hi there,

i ain‘t suceeded with my new Frontlight - why?

they point not straight the way while driving.

once they swallowing a bit and what is more irritating - one looks a bit stronger to the Left than the other also,

thats the reason i decided today, to rework that by remove complete the old mountingpoints and reworke them.

Started by disassembled the whole Frontmask.

ing the background the Old mountpoints are visible.

D058B27D-BB92-4F1F-A135-334D46841E63.jpeg.f579241515314c029e74bf96fd3975cc.jpeg

with dismounted Front, i remove the mountings and build 2 small new mountpoints one for each light additionally.

Made from Aluminum and painted blach, to prevent light irritation.

didnt actually connect the standlights, because i have allready the extended posi lights.

Then i repaint the whole frontmask, because i didn‘t like the Yellow- galvanized screws.

the result looks much better...

D01B473D-CD2B-47A2-90DD-F59D9615FF53.jpeg.8a0cecb53dd7cf13eb67bed398196e5b.jpeg

As next issue i try to find the trouble, while fuelpump dribbs.

after dismounted the Injectionline, i loosen the Fuelpumpconnector.

E3834645-DFFB-4F8A-B509-8A694EA5D43D.jpeg.0c6d5c40fd233bdcf524026e4c30bdd9.jpeg

and found the reason.....

one gasket - an simple o- ring was brittle .

D4488280-1959-49D4-9F97-AE8E82193035.jpeg.5c5388f05d08f2ae4b2cbe1bd0ef4827.jpeg

changed it to an new gasket and remount everything.

After a half hour testdrive nothing more is sweat and the Fuelpump works better.

also fire up is much better and quicker, what is now clear why.

Simple work, massive improvement.

C42597B0-6337-4B65-8194-DFCE5DCE9A33.jpeg.4ab8445ff93b29ce2fde05c9cfb18404.jpeg

easy going.

then i started for the next project,

the additional Gaspedal.

EBEDF4EC-BD04-4D75-BF06-7BCDCBCC468C.jpeg.238965d6e698c68ecd14348141865116.jpeg

I mounted a stiffer spring and exchange the Lever by a Bowden.

additionally i mounted an old Pedal, i found as Gaspedal.

now im able, to increase gas by Footpedal while engine needed like in a Car.

much simpler to deal with than only with Handgas, a 2hour Testdrive in the Woods shows, that all works perfect so far.

0734EACB-3BC9-4BEA-B39B-819BB9C4AD8E.jpeg

finally i mounted a Main Fuse for the whole Power with 50 Amps to protect cables.

Attached is via separate Fuses ( preglow, light, brake, light, warnlights, flashers...)

I honestly love it, to give things a second Life, especially if they elder.

Sometimes i just repair them, sometimes i search for a good way inbetween.

It depends on several issues, like costeffective, usability and my personal possibilities,

to rework them or keep it back in Work by simply exchange few Parts.

Important for me is mainly the functionality, the second is the 100% original parts.

If original Parts are more expensive that a new or reworked Part, i rethinkin if it's worth to do that, then i just make it.

That simple 😎

sometimes it must be halfed the seat times....

why?

because Kathi wants a new root in the Frontyard, while the old root was smashed by bigger branch,

that breaks about the Heavy Snow.

Some of the sidearms was broken.

Let‘s take a bit Seattime on the Beast drivin in the Woods, we got an continouse ok for.

Then we found and diggin a smaller and a bigger Root.

The Beast does the diggin with 4WD, honestly with a few pulls, then we move it home out of the Woods,

A nice ride and the Rearfork is a fantastic Gadget therefore....

At home i lift it with the FEL from my little Horse over the Fence..

I really love it, if things works so perfect together, like my Tools.

Additionally i’m lucky, that my small Wheelhorse lift that root without lifting it‘s own back.

i love it to Play with my Stuff that Way... ❤️

Especially while my horse is that reliable.

or in other Words, let me telling it with the imagine Soundtrack by Aerosmith...

not „walk this way“ - instead i’m singin „Work this Way“.

Doing a closer inspection on the Mowerdeck itself.

while i try to grease the Spindles, i see, one of the fittings isn‘t longer tight, the reason was a rotten Thread.

Set a new thread in oversize (M8) to one of the mowerdeckspildles to fit with a new grease fitting.

After that, because i‘m on the Way with my Thread cutter box, i prepared the fix pin for the Magneto Clutch

also with a new Thread, to be able to enlarge this Pin with an longthreaded Nut and an M8 Bolt, to fit with the new Magnetic Clutch, if my ordered Bolt comes. I hope it does....

This pin is urgently need, because it prevents the rotating of the Clutch itself, but with the new Clutch the Original Pin was to short.

Sorry, no Pics today, but if the Weather stay‘s dry and if my Bolt will be delivered tomorrow (what i hope)

i will sharpened and mounting the mowerdeck, than i put some Pics of what i did today.

Doing today a bit Seat time with the Horse.

Ahead i have to reinstall the Mowerdeck, it has to be sharpened the Blades,

after Sharp the Blades i lift it out of the Fontyard with my FEL and try mounted it.

C729999A-B0F1-4514-B384-B182C79621AE.jpeg.94eaa64d0642df406b4b84450fadb950.jpeg

but before, i must install the new Magnetoclutch and fiddling arround with the Belt.

4A33A3F7-8E50-46B4-ADB0-6DD50CE8C934.jpeg.4905143b40885805e4301f185868f81f.jpeg

The ordered 7/16-20 UNF Screw with a length of 4 1/2“  fits great, and i decide to use a insert Rivet as a lock for the Magneto.

just for the first test.

then i have an issue, i wondered.

everytime i engaged the Magneto, the Engine stops with or without Belt in.

after a closer inspection i found, that the Seatswitch has a damage.

I try it with a electric Bridge, to disable the Seatswith and the Blades starts to rotate, but a quirky Noise give me a bad feeling.

After a closer inspection again, i found the reason.

The Mowerdeck hinches touches my installed beltsaver if i completely lift the mowerdeck.

ok, for the Test i can dealin with, but here i have to rework something.

The pic shows the situation when the Deck is in setting highest mowersetup.

with this knowledge, i test my reinstalled mowerdeck in use.

ok, seems to work good enough.

Left pic shows the mowing on the sloping, the right pict show‘s the new Grease fitting in the mowerdeck spindle.

Mowing on the slope is a bit tricky, because of less rearweight, think i have to eat some more Steaks...😂

or i maybe enhance the rearweight, i rethinking how to solve this, an added weight of about 40 Kilo at least will be needed.

We will see how it will be doing this summer.

Hi Norm,

that‘s my favorite idea, but i didn‘t have the final idea how to implement.

Purchased weights are mostly not heavy enough, and for a selfmade solution, i have to be rethinkin my possibilities.

concrete was one of the ideas, Cast iron dumbbellweights are the other issues i thinkin about.

A final solution how to solve is still not done, but the first choice will be Wheelweights.

Didn‘t find for now, but i mean to remember, your rear Rim‘s are 12“

Mine are just 8“, to get such a heavy wheelweight in such compact form i have to found a good solution for.

The issue build them with concrete seems to be the first solution, because it was easy to build

but i will try to ask some Tyre Companies, if they have some old wheelweights, to make maybe 2 casts myself.

Additionally they should be mounted with an Rim protection to prevent, the wheelweights will scratch the paint in the Rim‘s

So far some things i have to think about, but it mustn‘t be solved within 2 Day‘s.

But i‘m allway‘s openminded for some advices.

Edit:

Actually we had some other issues, because we have a Guest here..

She‘s a bit shy firstly, but have also some pepper inside.

Today i did my Smallfarmer’s Work ...

Weather forecast tell me, it shall freeze tonight.

Temperatures shall reach below Zero, in Willingen about 250Km far they actual have 3cm Snow.😱

To protect my seeded Potatoes, i got some dung from my Neighbour, so my Wheelhorse get some Seat time.

The Beast get today a rest, but i imagine, i have to build a backshovel, to make me things more easier.

So i cleaned ahead my small field from upcoming grassroots just by Bodywork and after that,

it was so far in a state that i required.

I Fired my little Horse and do a Trip to the Neighbor’s Ranch on the Road.😎

I must do that way, because my Beast isn‘t allready finished and have no FEL.

Next issue must be the new FEL, but i have to do some changes in my Plan,

to have an easier Work, but that will be another Story.

I Picked up firstly a really full Shovel of dung and drove back.

Not my best idea at all, to fill the Shovel that Way, because there are stormy winds.

Ok, i learned an urgent lesson for myself, never drive against Wind with lifted FEL where is dung in...😂

some strong winds give me a nice outlook.. :teasing-signhere: but herefore it gives Water and Soap..

A Windshield makes therefore absolutely sense....

But no have - 😎

Here in the Picture, the Shovel is 1/2 full....

33424BFA-110E-41C6-9AAE-5BDEDAA8A0A6.jpeg.d1eee1176966630e0a01e36d1157ea39.jpeg

For each row, i planed a Shovel of dung, so i have to drive 3 times...:auto-layrubber:

increased my seattime, because of less fillleven in Shovel

Next ride..... hehehe

Ok, much better with just 1/2 filles Shovel....

Because i have learned my lesson, i filled the next Shovel‘s only half

result -> better, no flying dung, i hate to flee for..

after that was done, i started the Mowerdeck and mow arround the field.

Use the middle Mowersetup, what seems to be fine.

Work of the Day is done.

Let‘s rework my Plan..

Next small Planing Step ahead for the new FEL.

I found a Cylinder for a reasonable price, that offers doubleaction.

The lift capacity of the cylinders is 2,5To on given 117 Bar oilpressure in the System and the Dimensions shall be ideal for my Liftarms.

calculated it has a liftcapacity for more as 500Kg on Shoveltip, what is more than enough for my actual needs.

Same as with the Wheelhorse, i didn‘t wanna Kill the Frontaxle, what has a continouse Max. allowed Load with 514 Kilos.

Measured weight at Frontaxle is actual 198Kg, that means i have available 316 Kilos with Spare 300 Kilos.

The Crackload is given at more as 680kilos, that means 482 Kilos with mit more spare 400 additional Kilo‘s.
