WHNJ701 4,165 #27 Posted January 29, 2019 when the case tractor was at the inlaws, with the broken off steering wheel, I took an old vice grip clamped to the steering nut, the handle at six o'clock and drove it around like that. it's home now with a new steering wheel but it was kinda easy drive with the vice grip

ohiofarmer 3,265 #30 Posted January 29, 2019 (edited) The one people like the best is using a coffee stirrer straw from Lowes taped to my aerosol cans. You put the little red straw that pinpoints the spray inside the coffee stirrer and no more losing it. I cut up motorcycle tubes or bicycle tubes for HD rubber bands I used those rubber bands to hold septic drain tuces at height on metal stakes and backfilled 1800 feet of leach lines without leaving the bobcat seat Then I used one on a 520 to tension the transmission belt when the spring broke]. Took a piece of vinyl tube and allen set screw to make an expansion plug that held a carb diaphragm in a motorcycle carb [saved me $100.00] I use sockets of the perfect size to drive seals and bearings or remove bearings Old style gas tanks --put a vinyl tube over the vent and a shop vac over the fill spout and suck the heebie jeebies dirty scum from that wheelhorse transmission. that otherwise will not drain out. The other week, I used a blind adjusting tube [became a tube after cutting the ends off] from a vinyl blind as a wire guide to guide wiring around obstacles in a kitchen soffet. Saved a trip to the attic Inner tube between wheel and tire to keep tire spoons from chipping paint. got a million of 'em. JoeM 7,871 #33 Posted January 29, 2019 And I thought MacGyver was talented! You guys are kicking his butt! Hey after 37 odd years supervising mine maintenance I think I seen most of it. That condom ting is interesting. But anyway, if there is an award, I would have to vote for the good old screw driver. It's a Chisel, Pry Bar, Scraper, Volt Checker (when you thought the power was off), stethoscope, will hold your wiener while roasting, back scratcher, tire tool, ice pick and it goes on! Pretty good thread EB! 1

Wife drinks it black and if it gets really cold and I drink coffee, I put the Sweet & Low in 1st, still no need to stir!

No sugar. For my first cup I put the half and half in first. Then the coffee. No stirring. When I top it off just before I go out the door, I pour the rest of the coffee in and then add half & half as needed. That's when I stir it.....
Kenneth R Cluley 515 #37 Posted January 29, 2019 Every time i use or misuse some tool i recall how My grandpa always used to comment that if the only tool you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail.
wallfish 16,984 #38 Posted January 30, 2019 How about the butter knife as a flat head screwdriver? Sure just about everyone has done that at one time or another. You can fix the coffee maker so you have something to stir! Plus it works great as a prybar for getting the burnt toast out of the toaster!

I found a good substitute for a large blind gear/bearing puller. A 6" pry bar and light hammer work for removing the 1533 bearing. 1

aghead 72 #42 Posted January 30, 2019 An old frige holds all my welding rods, mig wire rolls, brazing, torch tips, gloves, ban saw blades, grinder/wire wheels, hood, goggles.... I sometime use my ink pen to scratch inside my ear. 5 gallon buckets carry all, sit on them, stand on them.
