I would like to put factory back on short on cash..ty again.Im looking for starter information i see a few different brands on internet which on is best. C160 number on my starter is ...smh 12 a 201 American bosch. Factory orignal. 48 years not to bad for a starter life. It was so cold out shaft snapp off... second problem rear end freezes up will not shift until warmed up for 30 minutes showing oil on dip stick a little brown could this be water in rearend casing. Yes, if this is an 8-speed manual (I can't speak for hydros, at all). Your trans. fluid could be freezing and causing your problem. Can you get your tractor into a warmer area before you try to drive it next time? And if it hasn't been done in a while, it would be a good idea to drain and flush and replace your trans. fluid. Also, check the rubber boot around the gearshift lever, and replace that if it's at all damaged, that's probably where water is getting into the trans. 6 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

stevasaurus 22,914 #4 Posted January 25, 2019 I always start my horse with the clutch pushed in...for one thing, it eases the drag on the started...for another, if it is winter and your trans is froze, you can start your horse and slowly let out the clutch.
