The Tuul Crib 7,336 #1 Posted January 25, 2019 So I'm redoing my 1067 and it originally had a 6 " pto on it . I'm thinking about stepping up to a 7". I do have some concern however. All bolts up fine and goes together. What I'm thinking about is will this effect the speed of the blades on the mower deck. Will it slow the blades down some? Ed Kennell 38,023 #5 Posted January 25, 2019 Increasing the mower blade RPM will increase the air flow. The negative may be shorter spindle bearing life and more vibration due to blade unbalance. oliver2-44 9,691 #7 Posted January 25, 2019 The real question is why are you wanting to change sizes? Step cautiously when you are increasing mower blade speed. Blades are designed for an rpm range, and the higher rpm and vibration could cause catastrophic blade, bearing or shaft failure. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

pfrederi 17,669 #9 Posted January 25, 2019 Interesting the larger pulley (inner one) is the same size on both the 6" and 7" PTO measured at the bottom of the V. however the smaller pulley(outer one) is significantly different. 6 " is 2-1/2 inches and the 7 " is 3-1/4" Again measured at the bottom of the v. So no speed changes for the mower decks but the 7" will speed up your Snowblower 2 I found that one out the hard way and burnt out the auger bearings - they were already on their way out but the extra blower rpm's was evidently too much. If I hook it up now with that larger clutch/pulley diameter that single stage really screams. Might not be a good long term idea - but it sure does toss that snow.
