Eric S. 15 #1 Posted January 23, 2019 I need to flush and change fluid & filter on a 1969 Electro 12 transmission model 90 - 2046 that I purchased recently . It has atf in it now and originally calls for type A atf which started in the mid 50's by General Motors . Some say you can switch to motor oil with a good purging 10 30 or 10 40 but if I stay with atf WHICH dexron since there are many . Just trying to take advantage of improvements in atf for my horse ! peter lena 8,726 #10 Posted January 23, 2019 Eric , that dex/merc fluid is the way to go , for availability and correct spec, most important is this BASELINE SERVICE on this new to you ,tractor is your assurance to this issue. another thing is to take the time to LUBRICATE ANY RELATED LINKAGE, always find it amazing to see what are supposed to be MOVABLE JOINTS packed with rust and crud. just my own experience with, " while you are there " take care of it . pete 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I left the the original decals on it and stripped the paint off around them. My plan was to buy the decals at the big show and repaint it again.
