Never had that issue on the 520 once the flag was in, held it with one hand then used the other to secure the hairpin cotter ,leaving the mower lift hanging and the rear lift cable attached, but I have had a snow thrower since around year 2k though. Navig8r 132 #8 Posted January 21, 2019 I think because I chose to use the top hole (because this gave the lift flag the most clearance to the rear lift cable) is why it was so tough, the second hole from the bottom of the arm would have been waaaay easier. Instead of placing the flag further up the rockshaft, the manual states the use of more shims/flat washers between the flag and the lift tube until you achieve desired lift height, but with any of the 3 520s I have/had none needed the addition of shims.
