meadowfield, outstanding work detail and ideas on that set up ! between the range of motion and the quality of the weld strength , that trailer or whatever you plan for this frame will move and function with solid ,smooth ,effortless pull on the tractor. your ideas are a testament to your work, great stuff, pete

Now that would be some kind of Handy here on the Mountainside. Super rough ground.

Looking forward to seeing what you put for a body on it.

Thanks guys, plan is to add a sprung drawbar and hydraulic tipping body. Plan A is manual hydraulic tip, plan B is to use the hydraulics on bendy...

Good idea! Nice use of WH parts for the build. There's not very many things that haven't been done yet but think this is a new one.

Welding steel to cast iron can be tricky, can you tell us what rod you used?

I don't think the axles are cast iron. They possibly have enough carbon to be steel, I used mild steel mig wire to weld.

Cast steel, I used regular rods on that stuff too, 7018.

Being the use these axle are if they were cast iron that would wear out quicker. That would make sense they would have more carbon.

I like it, Mark. I intend, hopefully, to build a twin axle tipper. Need to get a round to it one day.

The trailer is heavy, probably 150-200lbs empty. Full it probably weighs 1000+

I’ve deliberately put 80% of the weight on the rear end, which still leaves a lot of potential weight on the tractor hitch. When you go over the big bumps it’s a lot of force on the rear hitch and the springs take out that energy....

your work is reflective of a  grunt , that earned his experience on the line, great to see that , your experience and insight ,is light years out there , your welding detail alone sets you apart. great to have you  on the site, pete
