bottjernat1 2,190 #1 Posted January 16, 2019 So my 953 wheel horse has these wheel weights on it could these be Wheel Horse weights or are these for something different? I can't get anybody to identify them. But I just had a chat with a guy on Wheel Horse junkies on Facebook and he pulled up a piece of information that says these might be actual Wheel Horse weights is this true?

Given the numbering system that used at the time the WW-105 must have come out in 1965 (last number being the year). I have never seen them and hadn't seen this list before.

bottjernat1 2,190 #13 Posted January 17, 2019 Does anybody know what kind of boat these steering wheels where made for? And what year? I thought about seaching for a better one! Mine is cracked pretty good!
bottjernat1 2,190 #14 Posted January 17, 2019 Here is the factory engine. they changed the condensor in 2015 that is all they did to it. I cleaned the carb when i bought it. and changed the oil. Thats it so far. This other picture is the local dealer in kendallville indiana where it was bought and kendallville was where it spent all of its life until i bought it. it is now at home in avilla 7 miles away. I love it. i have it put up right now. i want to send the hydraulic cylinder in to get repaired it leaks a little. also am going to buy the tail light lens for it and center cap for the steering wheel. I love it i am the second owner! The guys dad repainted it a long time ago but it has never been rebuilt the motor or transmission. i have thought about draining the rear axle it i bet has never had the gear oil changed. the last picture is my wonderful wife who was excited when i bought it. She knew i got it for a steal! So when i offered what i did and they jumped on it. i even took a day off to go get it. i was super excited. LOL
953 nut 55,083 #15 Posted January 17, 2019 62 381 that is an early unit, looks like it is in great shape too. I wish I knew who made the steering wheel, yours is in far better condition than most. Those cracks can be filled with JB Weld and if you don't have the brass center cap a plastic replacement can be bought from Glen Pettit, he also has lenses and knobs. https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/forum/54-glen-pettit-restoration-parts/

19richie66 17,500 #17 Posted January 17, 2019 (edited) Steering wheels were made by Kainer. Saw one on ebay in white a while back. Maybe they discontinued the outside wheelweight due to being to hard to handle & install and went forward with the rear mounted. Don’t know, just a theory.
