Sweepster value

Recommended Posts

Shuboxlover

Friends,

I'm wondering what a sweepster in fair condition is worth.   It is a Sweepster brand and is made to mount on a Wheel Horse.   It is fully functional,  the bristles are in good condition,  but it could use a shot of paint.

I've never bought one or seen many for sale so I don't know the value.

Thanks in advance

Tyson

I paid $450 for mine over 10  years ago.  Guess it could stand some paint.  I had to add the casters as i use mine on grassy uneven areas.

Does yours have all the mounting frame and the electric lift?

These things are heavy and very very difficult to mount.  It has been on the C175 continuously (my first dedicated tractor implement pairing) even though she is only used a few hours a year in the spring to sweep the driveway out of the yard and put the township road back on the road.  Beats the heck out of raking....

WHX??

I'd guess around 4 - 500 depending on age. What horse does it fit? Any pics?

I have not bought it yet... contemplating.   It's attached to a 520, the tractor runs ok but is pretty rough.

Sweepster recommends at least a 15 hp tractor.  I might but the whole rig just fix up the 520 enough to run.  Not like you are going to be putting lots of hours on it....

Wish I never sold mine. It wasn't a Sweepster brand but it was nice to use for a coating of snow, dethaching the lawn, cleaning the sand and small stones off the driveway ect. ect.

The adjustable casters are a must.

Another consideration you will need weights and probably chains.  The sweepster makes the tractor very nose heavy plus the broom is trying to push you backwards.  Part of my sweep is uphill and I need all I can get weight wise especially in the spring when the ground is still wet.

I think I paid $600 for mine but I’m not sure because it was a number of years ago. I only use it occasionally but it does work well. I kind of bought it because they are a rare attachment.
