AMC RULES 37,130 #2 Posted December 30, 2018 Mighty fine looking you've got there. Might want to adjust your plow so it bottoms out just above your gravel drive... this effort will prevent it from digging in during snow removal, and you're having to reclaim all that gravel in the spring.

Firebug 267 #8 Posted December 31, 2018 Welcome, I’m exactly 1 hour east of you, waiting for the white stuff as well. Would rather have spring to get seat time in the garden and mulching, but it’s what we have to deal with on the banks of Erie

c-series don 8,666 #10 Posted December 31, 2018 That’s some serious weight you have there Ed, that must push like a champ!
Ed Kennell 38,023 #11 Posted December 31, 2018 I took 4 of the 20lbers off. It still pushes real well. At least it did when we had snow.

With plowing, it’s all about traction the front weighs really help the front wheels from sliding when pushing a big pile of snow.

A few small events in December. Gonna snow tonight to ring in the New year. 54 minutes ago, varosd said: help the front wheels from sliding You can also add a roller chain. @Ed KennellKennell do you have front weight? oldlineman 1,481 #14 Posted December 31, 2018 Just looking at your picture very nice setup. You might think about taking the mule drive off the front, it might give you more room for the plow. Just a thought.

When I remove a deck, I always remove the mule drive with the belt installed and store it with the deck. Much easier than removing the belt from the mule drive pulleys. Plus, I use the front attach-a-matic to install my plow anti sway/height control system. With a series of holes drilled in the control rod and with a washer and hairpin clip under the flat bar, I can set a minimum blade setting for plowing on the stone road, and remove it for full down pressure for scraping paved surfaces. This can also be accomplished with the height dial-a-matic on manual lift tractors. I only have hydraulic lift tractors. 5
Maxlow84 41 #16 Posted December 31, 2018 Ok thanks for the info . I’m new to all of this . What is the mule drive used for ? I considered taking it off but want sure if I needed too .
Ed Kennell 38,023 #17 Posted December 31, 2018 (edited) The mule drive is used to route a belt from the PTO pulley to the center pulley on a mowing deck. Edited December 31, 2018 by Ed Kennell
