The 520's get a bad rap for the wiring but a lot of it is due to owners making it look like your before pic.

 

Yours should go for a long time trouble free now.

 

Good looking machines (and no Toro !!!).

 

I have never driven an 8 speed 520 but I bet they both drive nice.

Well, if you want before pics, sadly my 520-8 could supply those.  Some day in line with other projects.  The wiring looks great!  Has anyone created a cable drawing to go with the schematic?  That would make it a lot easier to do it right, or at least know what to get.
