John Mulqueen 8 #1 Posted December 19, 2018 Has anyone mounted an older style 6-2211 32 inch snow blower to a 1988 312 - 8 wheel horse tractor with tech-a-matic mounts If so how does it work and how hard is it to do thanks
pfrederi 17,669 #2 Posted December 19, 2018 Biggest difference is the mounting frame. The older style was longer as it was bolted through the tractor frame. Easiest way would be to pick up a new frame and use it. It will mount tot eh blower body no problem. Or you could try shortening your frame and welding in a new cross piece for the tachmatic. but the rectangular cross piece in the old style may be in the way.. First picture is older frame mount second is for tachmatic 1
Ed Kennell 38,023 #3 Posted December 19, 2018 I mounted one on a C-160. I used the 3/8" long bolt and the existing holes in the tractor frame not using the tach-a-matic.. I did have to trim a corner off the tach-matic to get it to clear the flat bar on the blower frame. 2
John Mulqueen 8 #4 Posted December 22, 2018 The pulley on the snowblower that drives the mechanism is too close to center of the tractor and does not line up well with the PTO pulley on the tractor. It may line up better if I turn the pulley around. Thanks for your help
Ed Kennell 38,023 #5 Posted December 22, 2018 Is this your blower?
Ed Kennell 38,023 #7 Posted December 22, 2018 Sorry, this is not the blower I installed on the C-160. You can try reversing the drive pulley, but it appears you may need to lengthen the drive shaft. You will also need to alter the belt tensioning pulley.
