Sparky-(Admin) 21,083 #29 Posted November 27, 2018 Those huge front tires will look cool, but I bet the skinny original ones are better for steering. Fat tires ride on top of the snow whereas the skinny ones will cut into it.
Lee1977 6,556 #30 Posted November 27, 2018 Get some 40 or 50 chain to go around the narrow ones and you will be ready for snow or ice. I remember back in the 60's that they used chains around all four wheels for go-kart racing on frozen lakes.

The other disadvantage with these particular tires is that when the plow is at angle, they hit just a little bit on the outside rim of the plow. Sometime in the next few days I'm going to try putting a set of 16-inch tires back on it and see if it'll move around okay. The big fat ones have a whole bunch of liquid in them so they're very heavy. I tried putting a set of 16 by 4.80 on the Patriot horse when that had the plow and it literally would not steer. Like at all. I had almost no control whatsoever. And those were ags. You'd think they would have bitten in but they just floated right over the top of everything. 45 minutes ago, Lee1977 said: Get some 40 or 50 chain to go around the narrow ones and you will be ready for snow or ice. I have a section of number 60 chain that I bought at least a year ago and have not gotten around to putting it on yet. Thought about doing it tonight but I ran out of time. PeacemakerJack 10,719 #34 Posted November 27, 2018 Looking good Eric! Glad we haven’t had to deal with the white stuff here yet although we have had some dustings. Coming soon enough I’m sure! i like the fact that you have it well lit! A great way to get some seat time for about 9 months out of your year 1
