Thank you Lane Ranger. Just confused on main link, on yours it is on top and mine is on bottom. Seems on top isn't right with how the bends are from fan gear. Would interfere with frame. Don't see how either way would affect steering radius.

Mine are both on the bottom also. Not too sure you can see it in the picture unless you zoom.

Here it is 7 months later and I finally got to work on the 1054. All the input here has been so helpful in getting this fixed. Wanted to update so that this info could be helpful to someone else. So many old forums on this site have been so helpful for me to work on my herd. Wished some of my other tractor brands would have such a great site as Red Square. As I was plowing my garden the welded up ball joint on #27 Drag Link fell apart; I was able to wire it up to finish the job. So I was going to cut, grind down & thread the end and add a 1/2" ball joint ass'y. Instead I found a used 953 Drag Link that was in mint condition. I compared it to the old one, both are the same bends and length. 1- I cut off the welded on stops off of axle. Probably added by PO because they didn't know how to center the fan gear (?) or the larger ball joint on the left side of Tie Rod that the Drag Link hit the nut when turning. 2- added washers to the bottom of the larger ball joint & got rid of the taller lock nut and used a star washer with shorter nut. This keeps the Drag Link from dragging on the nut. 3- put on the newer Drag Link and adjusted the ball joint #26 out a few more threads from the one I took off. 4- centered the Drag Link & steering wheel with the fan gear. 5- changed the tires to tri-ribs. {Gives it the real tractor look it deserves}. Also easier turning than with trailer type tires. These steps improved the steering greatly. When making a circle the tractor makes a tighter left turn than the right hitting the axle with the factory stops. But nonetheless way better radius than before. I am sure that any 1054 will make the same radius due to the setup of the Drag Link is not centered on the front #28 Tie Rod as other models are. Left radius is approx 7 feet & Right is 8 feet. Book Specifications claims it is 6-3/4 feet. Either way the tractor will follow the same radius track making loops. Before the changes the radius was more like 9-10 feet.

      Need some help deciding on a brand of engine to buy for my 1054. (Needs to be a diesel 10 hp+) I’m refining used motor oil/cooking oil for fuel for it. So it will have to have an option to run used oil and diesel

      So, this kind of was destined to show up, I guess.  My wife found it a while back and was trying to buy it for me for our anniversary, but I was already in the middle of helping @Bow_Extreme get a deal on it!  Well, come to find out, he called looking to possible unload it.  SOLD SOLD SOLD!  The color is odd, but it adds character.  I think it’ll stay.  I’m thinking this might show up to Uncle Jim’s Plow day, snowblower engine and all to work the field!
