I spotted this one for sale, says 10 hp John Deere?"   Is it possible a Bready or Reo?

I think it's a porter cable! You can almost see the words left on the decal in the front.

Thanks @Mike'sHorseBarn Porter Cable is a new one to me. It's 4+ hours away, and my sons wedding is this weekend so no tractor wrangling time this week.

if you can contact the seller for the serial number, I keep a registry of these.  they were built late 58 to early 60 then porter cable sold off there lawn and garden divisions, the same basic tractor was then built under different names, dura corp,  lawnmaster, massey executive,  moto mower.  

I have 2 restored porter cables, one is attached and the one in the pic above at the show belongs to a friend of mine.

if you open the hood the tag is attached to the plate by the steering and hood latch thanks!

Well, I'm working on buying this one with the help of a friend in East Texas.  

@jabelman do you have any electronic copies of manuals for the Porter Cable tractors, or could you point me to a site that has them

Porter Cable was headquartered in Syracuse, NY; not too far from you. I don't know if they built the garden tractors there.

it's the same owner, it has a white hood which was ordered by the customer and the dealer had wheelhorse paint it white for the sale

let me know if you get it I have alot info I can help you with, I don't have it online cause of people printing and reselling them on ebay annoys me
