Sorry, been busy

thanks for the reception

C111, 79, bought at a yard sale 'bout 10 yrs ago, cheap

2 decks, snow plow, wheel weights & chains

saw last week the r. side axle stickin' out about 2-21/2". jacked it up and had that much in & out play in it.use it in the fall to tow a big leaf vac.

leaf season is NOW so need it pronto. so the "take it apart & fix it" thing is off the table.

drove to ohio today & picked one up I bought on ebay so as all that needs to happen next is to swap it out & go

this is gonna happen tomorrow.

thanks again for all the info, i'll keepya posted

Sounds like a "C" clip, that holds onto the axle, came off or broke.  It will not take much to fix that after you get the leaves picked up.

Got it all up & runnin' today, pretty easy swap.

saw axles with the snap ring & some with roll pins, didn't know what was in there.

axle moves horizontally a coupla inches but doesn't come out so didn't make sense that a retainer that's 1/8" thick could be the issue.

somewhere down the road if & when I find the ambition, I guess i'll see. thanks fot the pic
