What’s in your Cupholder?

In honor of Richie’s @19richie66 new awesome custom cups, I started this thread.  I know that some of you have already purchased and received his new cups.  These things are quality pieces and he can personalize them to your tastes.  You can honestly say, “I have the ONLY cup like this in existence!”  I started this thread to showcase that these aren’t just works of art but also very functional.  I used mine with a cold drink last night for leading my TeenGroup at church and then promptly left it.  So, stopped by first thing this morning to pick it up before it got legs and disappeared.  It still had ice in it 12 hours later.  I also like the metal lining as it doesn’t add the plastic taste to the beverage of choice that cheaper cups often do. 

My cup is a “house divided” cup with Wheel Horse on one side and IH on the other with my Avatar “Peacemaker Jack” around the bottom.

I requested the Patina look on mine and am totally happy with how it turned out. He even brushed little rivets in the corners to make it look like two pieces of metal wrapped around the cup and held on by rivets.

Top notch work and will certainly be a conversation piece wherever you use it.

I ordered up a couple of these from Richie and I have to agree with everyone else. The quality is top-notch. The artwork is excellent.

And I also do love the fact that you can put something cold or hot in it and it will stay exactly what it was supposed to be. Not. Luke. Warm.

Motor oil for the small 4 cycle Honda pumps I service. They hold very little. That bottle will do 4 almost 5 water pumps.

I live in maple syrup Country Man.

 

Best syrup I've ever had comes from a processor a mile and a half up the mountain from me.

 

I wonder how motor oil would taste in a delicious Wheelhorse cup of Wonderful Coffee?

As tough as Richie is, he probably does that now and again I can hear his coworkers now, “What’s the deal with the coffee in your cup Richie? That is some strong stuff! Looks as thick and dark as motor oil!”

Im not that tough.  We had a guy here at work that made what he called “cuban coffee”. It looked like used motor oil. Hard to drink for sure. I like light-med brew coffee. And yes, cream & sugar.

Boiled coffee. Cowboy Coffee. Camp coffee.

Whatever you want to call it.

in the Louis L'Amour western books they used to say that if you can float a horseshoe on it it's done just about right.

 

That's the way to go.

I’m not sporting my Richie cup yet, I still need to go pick it up from him!  Until then, a cup with my business logo that my wife had made for me...  F J is Frank John, my late Grandfather.  He had a trucking company in the 60’s with the same logo, I had it digitized for my company.

I really think I need to read some L’Amour.  My one author I read from, Michael Perry, mentions him often.

I'd recommend it of course.

Read a bio or two from his website or the inside cover of one of his books.

 

the people and the action and the stories in his books are all made up fiction based on real events.

 

One of the cool things is that if he says there was a rock in a certain place or a cave in a certain place or anything like that. It really was there at the time the story was written.

After he passed away there were over 10,000 maps found in his Library.

 

He wrote a variety of types of books but the westerns that he is known for were because that was how he made his money.

I am excited to have my own personalized coffee mug from Richie.

 

 

 We felt that the patina look would match the survivor patina of Comanche.  We decided to implement an arrowhead on the cup.  Richie put my avatar on the backside of the cup in large letters, angled. 

 

 

Today dad picked us up from school in the Goat. That was very cool until I noticed a problem with dad’s GTO however, it doesn’t have any cupholders Guess who get to be the cupholder—for myself and Dad! A small price to pay for riding a vintage car. 

 

 Thank you Richie for the awesome cup. I plan to use it a lot

Kevin—you won’t regret reading Louis—he is one of the all time great short story fiction writers. As Eric says, he was so well researched that many of his fiction books seem like nonfiction because of the facts and documentation.  If you get to reading one, you’ll have to let us know which one you decide to tackle.

I’ve been using my “house divided” mug from Richie for about three weeks now nearly every single day and I love it.  Works equally well with hot or cold beverages and is a neat conversation piece...

This is in my work truck “Warrior” today! “Donut shop” blend coffee—good stuff.

Eric, I'm not to far away from Maple syrup country myself...http://www.highlandcounty.org/business-directory/maple-products/...doesn't matter which home I'm at its on either side of me...
