Solenoid questions

Have a 418C that needs a new solenoid.  Can't find a part number on the old one and can't seem to find anything online. Any help tracing one down would be greatly appreciated

If your starter looks similar, some part numbers upper right hand corner. use the part numbers to source your solenoid.

 

It appears your Kohler engine as shipped from the factory had a Denso starter, the one pictured below is probably a Chinese clone.

Any lawn and garden solenoid will do the job. Auto parts stores, Tractor Supply and even Wallyworld carry them. The one in the picture has two small terminals, one of them would need to be grounded for it to work.

Also, Steiner Tractor Parts has great quality ones for a decent price.
