D-250 at play

Recommended Posts

Buzz

Here's something you don't see everyday............Not many people use their D-250 in this manner. Guess the transmission isn't a weak spot, just impossible to find parts for. These are from the Rough & Tumble website at the Threshermen's Reunion in Kinzer PA, August 2007. Pretty sure he brings it to the big show. Thanks to Karl for editing the pictures for me

When you make your sulky make sure it was a backrest. I've seen a lot with just a tractor seat and have seen several people tumble off the back. :D Thank goodness no one got hurt. I've been thinking about one myself

Buzz great link...took some time looking at all the pics, but worth it.

I think I liked the 12ton Steam Roller & the 28 cylinder Pratt & Whitney radial engine!!

Wish I were closer to that show.

Hey Buzz, You are a 100% correct as far as this young man coming to the Big Show, I remember seeing him running around there quite a bit. There was a guy with us that happens to have like 5 of these tractors in various stages, one with a loader. I have another friend over in Rochester Ind., who does the same with his D250 but he happens to have a few backup tractors for parts. John

That's the kid who thought I was nuts while "cruising" Friday night at the WHCC show last June. Apparently the governor on that D-250 is no longer being used :P and he thought his tractor was really fast! Well I just had to take the little 400 Suburban out for a lap around the block and show him what 5000 rpm's of K-91 Kohler looked like. :D

My hand got a little warm from being so close to the exhaust (while holding the governor arm wide open) and if it wasn't for the fact that turns on two wheels with a nut-roaster are really scary, I probably could have kept up with him for a whole lap. :(

That show has something for everyone. It's only 2 hours from home so try to make it every year. This time of year going through all the pictures on their website makes you wish for summer..............
