Pullstart 62,837 #76 Posted October 23, 2018 Now, how to mix red and orange, that’s starting to sound like the hardest part of the build!

Red. Orange. Red. Orange. Red. Or a checkerboard pattern.
19richie66 17,500 #78 Posted October 23, 2018 (edited) Waving checkered flag across the hood. Orange and red squares. Also for a battery box you could use a small latching ammo can. Edited October 23, 2018 by 19richie66

Pullstart 62,837 #80 Posted October 23, 2018 I think length is not my issue, but height still by just a tickle. Referencing the frame as level, I made a block to space the hood mount up. I had to raise the hood by 1/4” to level it out. I might be able to massage the hood stand to raise the rear a bit.
Pullstart 62,837 #81 Posted October 23, 2018 FYI, the green tape is NOT a cut line, it’s to reference the current battery location.

All I can tell you is if you clowns spent as much time building as worrying about what to name it this build would be done. Hey... I got a novel Idea... how 'bout we call it a tractor??? Pullstart 62,837 #83 Posted October 23, 2018 That’s a thinkin’ chair. Can’t recall the last time I used it! no turning back, no turning back... I think this notch notch will be enough to stick a big block in there!

Pullstart 62,837 #86 Posted October 23, 2018 So close, yet so far away. The flywheel cover interferes with the battery box. So thanks to some clowns, I’ve gotta build a battery box up front I guess!

Didn't realize those came in a c-101, was under the impression that the C series used big base engines.. Thought they were mostly used in the 1045 tractors but then again I don't have an extensive knowledge of what really came in what. 3 minutes ago, PeacemakerJack said: now, let’s see, where have I seen a pan like that before... Pullstart 62,837 #92 Posted October 23, 2018 This C has a shaker plate that I removed. The Charger 12 block had the super tall base.

Or maybe just sunrise red instead of regal red?

Kinda like “Carousel Red” on the ‘69 GTO Judge... That also looks orange to me...just sayin!
Pullstart 62,837 #98 Posted October 23, 2018 Maybe I’ll just spray some WD on it and call it an AC!
Pullstart 62,837 #99 Posted October 24, 2018 So the steering shaft feels like getting in the way of the oil pan. My torch begs to differ.
Pullstart 62,837 #100 Posted October 24, 2018 I smeared dirty grease on the bottom of a parts oil pan to spot in the upgraded shaft. All clears! I need to replace the pillow block and when I do, I’ll space it out to make up for the length I lost in the bends and all will be well. And after it is together and I tear it apart, I’ll plug up some of those “extra”holes in the frame.
