Achto 27,609 #751 Posted June 10, 2019 You were too quick for me on that Kevin. I'm glad that you found it, but lets not dismiss my open wires idea. I mean it is spose to be a Frankenstein.

I have had good luck protecting paint by slipping the thumb of an old leather glove over the arm on the changer. Gotta take the glove off first, then put it on the changer! 2 1

I mean it is spose to be a Frankenstein. A buddy and I were given a truck one time, with no title, receipt or keys. The lady just said “There it is, have at it!” And we were dumb enough to not think there was any problem! It ended up with 3 wires through the top of the dash to start it about like that. Twist two, tap the other, blast through the field, get some gas and a hot dog in town, blast the field so more, go raise some more cain, repeat! Yep, the doors, windshield and some other unnecessary items were removed and we drove it to town about once a week not even caring about plates or insurance.
Pullstart 62,913 #755 Posted June 10, 2019 It’s a bit cramped, but Frank has a light switch! He’ll also get fuses!
Pullstart 62,913 #756 Posted June 10, 2019 We have crank and spark! I need to wire up the volt meter, hour meter and light switch still. If I only started the wheels earlier in the project, we could potentially take a ride soon! Aaaaahhhhhhh this is so close!
Pullstart 62,913 #757 Posted June 10, 2019 Oh, I guess I need to do fuel lines too... but there are three black wheels at least!

Pullstart 62,913 #759 Posted June 10, 2019 I found an assortment of sticky back no-scratch furniture pads in the junk drawer. We have a few of those. It looks like Frank’s bonnet will get an arrangement to keep from scratching things up too much.

We've put those on a few tractor hoods.

Pullstart 62,913 #762 Posted June 12, 2019 Some final prep work... I brushed and wet sanded the back cover already, the front is next. The back had zero chrome visible when I started!

Pullstart 62,913 #764 Posted June 13, 2019 Fronts are mounted up! Considering the cracks in the sidewalks, I’m surprised they look so decent inflated... but I run low pressure in the tubes anyways.

Pullstart 62,913 #772 Posted June 13, 2019 I opened up the hole for the throttle cable. It probably should have been done before assembly, but I must have missed it.

IMO If I happen to find Scotchloks in a friend's garage, I kindly throw them away before they can cause a problem. Edited June 13, 2019 by Achto 3
Pullstart 62,913 #774 Posted June 13, 2019 I’ll be using neither method on this wiring Frank’s eye looks good on him! 2
