Pullstart 62,889 #676 Posted May 28, 2019 (edited) @Jennifer these pictures were taken 6 minutes apart. The wheels have been inside the dip less than 24 hours. I simply ran the wire brush along the paint that was dried and cracked, now there’s a second bare wheel. No hard work required! it’s quite amazing, really. I’m glad some smart person figured this our for some Neanderthal like me! i found a 2 pack of the Washing Soda (not baking soda) on Amazon, and gave my loving wife the other box for laundry. All the bare steel here was wiped away by hand! Thank you all for your help I found this topic very helpful and interesting to say the lest! Pullstart 62,889 #679 Posted May 29, 2019 I have no pictures this morning, but I flipped the wheels inside out yesterday and rotated them this morning. The paint and rust at 24 volts is coming off like melted butter! I imagine tonight I’ll pull them out and pressure wash ‘em, then decide if they need any extra time cooking the hard to reach spots.

WHX?? 48,815 #681 Posted May 29, 2019 What did you use for a 24v power source Kev? Just two batteries? Maybe this would be a good use for those 24V chargers we have @Achto ?

I think that they require an input voltage before they will turn on to produce voltage.
Pullstart 62,889 #684 Posted May 29, 2019 My battery charger will switch from 12 to 24. I wish I had gotten the 6/12, but now I found a use for it! 1

I should invest in a new one... mine is probably 15-20 years old, well used and has slowly blown all the needles out of it! I’ve put it back together countless times, but it’s hard to reassemble when the pieces eventually are lost. 1

Pullstart 62,889 #688 Posted May 29, 2019 Don’t tell my wife, but I painted a few things! A little contrast to go with the wheels will be a good thing.

Pullstart 62,889 #690 Posted May 29, 2019 Here is one of the wheels, just rinsed off with the hose. I put it in the dip laying down, then I’ll flip it and swap them out.
