Pullstart 62,889 #101 Posted October 25, 2018 Doesn’t look like much, but there was some tedious detail to BOLT THE ENGINE DOWN!! I changed the oil while it was on the hoist. 1
LengerichKA88 1,883 #102 Posted October 25, 2018 This might be a dumb question, but I haven’t found an answer on my own: What is a “shaker plate”?

Some engines have a plate hard mounted to the frame with isolator bushings that the engine mounts to. Edit... scratch that... reverse it. The plate is mounted solid to the block. Pullstart 62,889 #105 Posted October 25, 2018 Oh man oh man, I think I’ve done it for myself now... the wheels and tires from the David Bradley I picked up a bit ago are screaming to get in on the project! I see a higher steering wheel and maybe some cut down (back half) floor boards. The seat and fenders would drop a bit of course... The DB wheels are a bigger bolt pattern and it has ratcheting hubs for cornering in the field, but that would mess with reverse a tiny.

With the bigger 16" rear tires (David Bradley did use 16" didn't they) you might want to go 12" in the front to get it level If you could find some old Ford or Chrysler product 16" rims the bolt pattern would be the same as the . Mrs Pullstart won't be doing any mowing with it that high, the deck wouldn't be able to get down far enough!

The DB axles are 1-1/8”, I thought maybe I’d pull apart one of the hubs to see if I could make them lock up.

WHX?? 48,815 #110 Posted October 25, 2018 Nother stupid question here Kev ... why did you have to notch the frame and play steering shaft origami? Both 241s with a short base I have lay flat on the frame. They came off a 1055s. I coulda shoulda woulda sent you one, but guessing you would have had to shorten the rod dipper??
Pullstart 62,889 #111 Posted October 25, 2018 Working with what I’ve got and what I have spares for, both K241 oil pans I have are shallow but with a recess for the dipper. Trying to keep the engine as low as possible to clear the hood reasonably, that recess interfered with the frame and the steering. 4 minutes ago, WHX21 said: Nother stupid question here Kev ... why did you have to notch the frame and play steering shaft origami? Pullstart 62,889 #112 Posted October 25, 2018 Small (huge) victories, the K241 still runs, and the hydro feels strong enough to run me over while test firing! Also, I think I’ll be able to lock the DB hub in a drive position by replacing a spring with a piece of tubing. Time to strap a fuel tank on this beast and run it around the yard a while!

Pullstart 62,889 #116 Posted October 25, 2018 Tip of the day: when your wiring is hanging by a strap, don’t take a joyride out in the field. That’s when the gremlins come out! Back in the shop safe and sound.... I’m convinced the build must go on 1

Pullstart 62,889 #118 Posted October 25, 2018 Both set screws were snapped flush to the hub and one hub is cracked. A good sign this next part is gonna be tough? I finally broke down and built a hub puller.

Chris G 3,296 #121 Posted October 25, 2018 The stack kinda fits in my eyes. Kind helps offset the look with larger wheels in the back. Looking good so far

Tractorhead 9,064 #123 Posted October 25, 2018 As fas as your Bu.. fit's between tyres😂, the Stack size looks pretty cool😎. Think you have to enlarger the steering wheel a bit, to come in upright position while seating. Don't forget - it's not a durablue Axle in rear... The dimensions at all looks coherent!👍

Durablue, isn’t that in atv’s and whatnot? I think I’ve got one in my Raptor out back!

I suppose I’ll wait to figure the overall length/height when I get the seat situated.
