KC9KAS 4,741 #6 Posted September 29, 2018 Yours is a SNAPPING THIRTY probably newer than the SNAPPIN TURTLE.....I have 2 SNAPPIN TURTLES, but are the self propelled walk behind models...not with the seat & front wheels. A friend has a "rider" model. The walking model has a "skid plate" in front instead of wheels and has a big cast iron turtle head on the front.

I think the fella i got it from may have tooled around on it at shows. The young fella that bought it off me, was pretty happy about it. I guess him and his grandpa were collectors.

Yeah, I saw one of those in a youtube video, even had a little two wheeled cart attached you could stand on and get pulled around.
KC9KAS 4,741 #10 Posted September 29, 2018 You could drive a stake in the yard and attach a rope to the stake & around the turtle head on the front. Start up the mower and engage the drive and it would mow the yard by itself around and around as the rope wound up on the stake. Of course your yard was mowed in circles and you had to move the stake around.
